ABOUT US:

The INDEPENDENT EVANGELICAL CHRISTIAN CHURCHES, is an association of Spirit filled, non-denominational churches, started in 1990 through the ministry of Missionary Abel Aureli and his family. Abel was called by God to go back to his native country to preach the Gospel to the whole province of Frosinone, where they were born and raised.

The work began with a small group in the city of Frosinone, mostly relatives of Abel, and soon the group grew up numerically and spiritually, to form a local church. Where for the previous fifteen years there hadn't been a single soul saved, by the grace of God in three years threre were 49 newly baptized people. Most of Abel's wife relatives who live in a different area some 40 Miles away from Frosinone, came to the Lord as well, so the Church of Atina was started.

Home Bible study groups were started i San Pietro Infine, in the province of Caserta, (the first town out of the province of Frosinone, on the way towards Naples), in Boville Ernica, and in Belmonte Castello, in the province of Frosinone.

Abel earned a Diploma in Ministerial studies and a Certification in Missionary Principles with the Berean School Of The Bible (Assemblies of God) and desired to come to the Italian mission field through the Assemblies of God. Unfortunately, the rules of the Foreign Mission Departement didn't match with God's call upon Abel's live, so he decided to sell his house in Medford Massachusetts and leave for the mission field as an independent minister.

Although independent and non-denominational, the main beliefs of Abel and his ministry are those of most other "Spirit Filled", "Full Gospel", or "Charismatic", of Evangelical background, which are very well known around the world. The association has also decided to be willing to have fellowship and communion with all those churches and individuals which believe in the salvation by grace through faith in Christ, and which believe in the "ONENESS" of the Body of Christ.

Being Abel and his family in Italy as missionaries, although pastoring their two churches out of necessity, yet they will continue to reach new areas with the preaching of the saving message of the Gospel of Christ. For this reason, Abel and his family will have to still relay on the support of like-faith churches and individuals around the world, who have a passion even for the Italian unsaved souls.

ABOUT ITALY:

Many people have the tendency to believe that Italy is a christian country, and thus, not in need of missionaries, but please, allow me to share a few facts with you.

Out of 57 million people in the country, only 0.4% of them claim to be born again christians. In some of the provinces, like Turin, Bologna, Florence, Perugia, etc. and Frosinone (our home town), that percentage is only 0.1%. Out of 500,000 people in the province, there are more or less 500 born again people.

There are believed to be over 100.000 practicing magicians in the country, and the majority of the Italian people will visit them at one point or another in their lives. Some are so addicted to them, that they will need to go every week, not knowing what they are getting into.

Unfortunately, either their religious teachers never tell them anything, or they don't care enough to realize that they are falling more and more into the hands of the enemy. Yet, this same people are fearful of what their relatives and friends may say to them, should they accept Christ in their hearts as their Savior and Lord!

There are 500 born-again Christians in the province, but only 15 of the 91 communities have any of these disciples living among them. The other 76 have no abiding witness.

Dear friends, unless we can soon reach the people of Frosinone with the gospel, 99% of them will eventually die unsaved! We urgently need the prayers and the financial support of all the disciples who have the same passion for these souls that we do.

Our immediate goal is to teach and train a group of six young local people, who will help us put Gospel literature in every home in the province. We will follow them with public preaching of the Gospel in the main squares of the towns; with tent meetings; with the movie, "Jesus", and with dramas. We will then follow-up on those souls who have either accepted Christ in their own hearts or at least have shown some interest and desire to know more about God.

We urgently need sponsoring churches, who will support the expenses for the starting of a local church in some of these communities, until they will become self-supporting.
