Truckers for Christ dedicate 2nd mobile chapter

Truckers for Christ - Ohio dedicated its new mobile chapel and rededicated the first chapel Sunday, Dec. 5. The service of praise was held at RV headquarters next to the Williams Truck Stop off I-70 near London. Truckers for Christ is an independent non-profit organization of men and women of God dedicated to helping all people in the trucking industry to find a new life through the gospel. The organization was founded by chairman Carl Rucker under Christian Truckers Inc.. The Rev. Lynn Shunk, an ordained minister, has been with the group since its beginning and sees the chapel as a trucker's spiritual food. The group's chairman is a trucker and the staff and directors are Christian men and women who work in trucking-related fields. The board will always have one member who is an ordained minister. The first mobile chapel was the Teddy Burnside Chapel which was established in 1985. Those who visit the trailer chapel find free Bibles and a quiet place to pray and meditate. While most people think about missions as being in places like Africa and Latin American, Truckers for Christ is a mission to the trucking industry. There are well over 600,000 truckers in the United States and the need for a mission is real. Contributions to Truckers for Christ are tax deductible.
