THE ANOINTING OF JEZEBEL Meet Jezebel Chapter 1 By Tommy Hawk "Jezebel's mission is to dethrone God ordained authority" Jezebel was the daughter of Ethbaal the King of the Zidonians and former priest of Astarte (1Kings 16:31), who made his way to the throne by the murder of his predecessor Pheles. She inherited the same sins as her father. Jezebel looked down with perverse pride upon a people whose religion she neither understood nor respected. Her goal was to introduce idolatry to Israel and her offense was then and is today, slay all the prophets of Jehovah. She became the wife of Ahab, king of Israel and was a woman of masculine temperament and swayed her husband at will. She was a devoted worshiper of Baal and intolerant of other faiths. To please her, Ahab reared a temple and an altar to Baal in Samaria, and set up an Asherah (1st. Kings 16:32,33). Though legally, only the king's consort and not the ruler of the country, yet she slew all the prophets of Jehovah on whom she could lay hands (chapter 18:4-13). Jezebel in the Hebrew means: without cohabitation. She is rebellious, aggressive, wants to consume, steal, destroy and take over. She (when I say she) I am talking about a man, woman or child who is being control or used by Jezebel. She is a cancer in the home, church and the government. She will not live in a relationship, home, church or institution that she cannot control or dominate. Where the Spirit of the Lord is in a church, there is liberty and the fruit of the Spirit, producing love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Ga. 5:22-23). Where the spirit of Jezebel is manifesting herself, there is control from the pulpit, producing fear, struggles to perform, anxiety, religious rules, divorce and religion rather than relationship. The results? Christians are distressed, depressed, regressing and committing suicide. As I began to study the spirit of Jezebel and to my surprise, this spirit was in control of me in many ways. This book is not an assault on women or even men, we are pulling the cover off Jezebel and finding that a lot of the church is in bed with her, thus we are exposing where she has been hiding for millenniums. One of the tricks of Jezebel, as you continue in this book, is to get you to concentrating on someone else, rather than check yourself out. This is what happened to me at the beginning, I was thinking about my wife and everybody else that I saw this spirit working through rather than checking my self. So, you need to use a journal to keep notes, especially of her characteristics and let His Holy Spirit reveal to you personally, the areas that you need to kick the witch of your life, home and church. No matter how big a hold she has on you, your home, church and even our nation, there is hope and total victory, because she is defeated. As you continue to read this book, you will most likely experience her biggest assault weapon she uses, fear. Fear is her biggest tool in getting you off track. She pushes you away from God with fear thoughts, but just remember, God does not correct, warn or guide by fear. I will talk more about this later, but God cannot use something that He don't possess. He can't use fear or doubt to warn or bring correction to you, because he don't possess these. "Manipulation" Jezebel is corrupting our home, church and nation. I was in the Nation of Antigua in the West Indies and a the pastor of the church where I was ministering, just out of the clear blue asked me, Tommy, do you know what the spirit is over your nation and the church in America? I quote him, "The Spirit of Jezebel". I was shocked, because so very few preachers in our own country have any revelation about this spirit that is corrupting our church and homeland. As we talked, I began to share how Jezebel has gained control over many churches, homes and our government in America. I remember sitting on a platform in a church in the South, as the pastor began to receive an offering. He presented the need before the congregation and I was ready to give and wanted to. He ask everyone to get a five dollar bill in hand and line up at the front. But very few out of eight hundred people responded. As the pastor viewed the lack of interest, he retaliated with the spirit of Jezebel through manipulation and fear. I quote him, "I am ashamed of you". Then about three hundred people got their $5.00 bill in hand and stood in line. Then he had the nerve to say, now you are obeying God. I sat there grieved for the people. God didn't tell them to give, the spirit of Jezebel through a manipulating spirit, a dominating and controlling spirit with the tool of guilt, thus caused the people to give. They gave out of fear of man, rather than love and was ashamed not to give. Jezebel works through the flesh. This pastor was operating in the flesh, not the Holy Spirit. The people sowed to flesh not to the Spirit. Many wonder why they are not reaping a harvest of blessing. I will tell you why, we are sowing many times to fleshly "Manipulation", out of fear. If we give according to the flesh, from the flesh will reap corruption. His Holy Spirit never leads us to give (sow) out of fearing what might happen if we don't. God will always speak to us to give the amount He wants us to give.
