Our Story

Commonly known as The Lutheran Home, LNH-Hickory is home to 104 nursing facility residents and 36 rest home, or assisted living, residents. At 35 years old, the Lutheran Home was the first combination nursing home/rest home in the State of North Carolina.

Services include skilled and intermediate care, rehabilitation services, and assisted living services. The 104 nursing beds includes a well-regarded Alzheimer's Unit, the only one in the Unifour area.

The Lutheran Home is known for its commitment to caring for its residents just like family: caring, friendly staff; good food; activity programs that provide plenty to do all day, every day; numerous volunteers; and its secret weapon, Chaplain JL Peeler. The Lutheran Home is very involved in state and national affairs. Education and involvement are keys to continued success.

The Lutheran Home is a subsidiary of Lutheran Services for the Aging (LSA). LSA is a ministry of the North Carolina Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
