True Southern Gospel
The Carolina Crusaders are a dedicated group of born-again Christians of the Southern Baptist faith.Although we sing only part-time, we are full-time servants of God.We are available to sing on most week-ends for any type Christian function,be it a regular singing,homecoming, benifit,or revival,etc.There is no charge for us to sing,but we will accept love-offerings to help support our singing ministry. We are accepting bookings for the SC,NC,Tenn,Ga. area,but will go any- where the Lord leads. Ben Steagall Sr. is our lead singer.He has been singing lead since the group was formed in 1975. He is also a full-time Paramedic/Supervisor with Union County EMS.Ben lives in Union,SC and he is 50 years old. Ben Steagall Jr. sings tenor and helps arrange our music. He is 28 and lives in Gaffney,SC. Benji, as we call him has been with the group since June of 1995.He is employed with the Kohler Co. Sam Jackson sings baritone. He is 61 years old and retired due to health reasons. Sam has also been with the group since 1975. He lives in Gaffney,SC. Lawrence Matheny sings bass. We are not really sure how old he is but its been said the trees that Noah built the ark with were seedlings when he was born.Lawrence teaches school and has been with us since 1983. Myram Jackson plays bass guitar. She is Sam's wife and Ben Sr's older sister.I,m not allowed to say how much older but its only 3 years. She lives in Gaffney,SC. with the group since 1975 Ruth Steagall plays keyboard and keeps us all straight. She is Ben and Myrams mother. She doesn't like for me to tell her age ,so, all I will say is she was 26 when I was born 50 years ago.Mom has also been with us since 1975. So,I guess we are really a family group. We are looking for any type dedicated Christian musician living in the upstate SC area that would like to play for a true Southern Gospel Quartet. Call, E-mail or write us any time.
