Free Protestant
Episcopal Church
This church was established in England on 2 November 1897 by a union of several
small British episcopates that had been established in the 1870s in reaction to
the rising Anglo-Catholicism of the mother Church of England. You can find out
more at the web site.
- TIFPEC NETWORK INFORMATION CENTRE® -
The fact that so many other Churches, after a long and conscientious examination of Sacred Scripture and Tradition, have come to the conclusion that women can be ordained priests and bishops, is of great significance to The International Free Protestant Episcopal Church and our church branches and missionaries in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas. We have ongoing plans to establish further ministries and branches in other nations. Consequently, we welcome pastors and churches that wish to establish or become a branch of The International Free Protestant Episcopal Church and University ®
Welcome to The International Free Protestant Episcopal Church ®
This web site is for the Independent Anglican Episcopal Church around the world. Its purpose is to help us Anglicans and Episcopalians communicate with each other more easily, and to help everyone learn about our church. The serious growth of our Communion and the increased number of bishops make this a challenging project in our attempts to enable the ministry of global prayer and support.‘We are not a mission but a church with a mission.’Our goal at The International Free Protestant Episcopal University is to provide fellowship, support and training to those who feel a call to herald the message of Christ, crucified and risen from the dead. Our calling has been foreordained to use the Internet as a tool to reach many nations and help raise up ministries in those nations."We join in a holy brotherhood and with the help of God, will fight the evils of the world". Jesus said the kingdom of God is like a "net" cast into the sea, bringing forth a great catch of fish. Take advantage of the powerful tool that has taken us many years to prepare for you. Schism, however, lasts for centuries and is very difficult to reverse. Schism has never resolved a conflict. It is moreover utter disobedience of our Lord, who commands us without exception to 'love one another as he has loved us'."We must manage a new culture for the people - the culture of the non-violence - that gives the children hope".

HYMN 196:
"COME THOU LONG EXPECTED JESUS"
The proposals, which would have to be agreed by the Church’s separate provinces, have already aroused suspicions that they will turn the Archbishop of Canterbury into an Anglican version of the Pope suggests the newspaper.
The powers are proposed in a legal document presented to the 37 Anglican primates who met at Lambeth Palace last week.
At present, the Archbishop of Canterbury has moral authority amongst bishops but no juridical authority.
