Pastor Roger Vandevert answered the Foreign Missions call to establish and pioneer new churches and ministries in Brazil. After a 7 day revival with Rev Anton Wiggins, the new Victory Temple International was birthed.>>> Anton Wiggins is also a man of God with missions and pastoral experiance. He is a former pastor of the Foursquare International Denomination (Igreja Quadrangular). He shares our vision to see the Church of God grow throughout the world. Presently he is in Sao Paulo, Brazil and serves together with Roger Vandevert. ~~~Roger Vandevert, 53, has lived and ministered on the Monterey Peninsula for over 21 years. In that time he served as Associate and held Senior pastor positions in both the Assemblies of God(A/G) and Church of God in Christ (COGIC). In 1984 after graduation from Rhema Bible Training Center, he moved to Carmel and started Carmel's First Assembly of God church; known as Carmel Christian Fellowship. In 1990 Roger served as an Associate,then intern pastor to Castroville's First Assembly of God. Searching for more intimate ways to worship God, Roger visited the Greater Victory Temple-Church of God in Christ in Seaside, CA. After several meetings, Bishop Wilbur W. Hamilton embraced him and offered him ministry opportunities at Greater Victory Temple. Under Bishop Hamilton's mentoring, Roger became the first white Elder/Pastor on staff in our predominately black denomination. In time, the Bishop ordained him as a COGIC Pastor and Elder. He also planted the Crossroads Bible Church of God in Christ in Soquel, CA. ~In 2002 he sold everything and moved to his new country of Brazil. The mandate was to start five churches, install five pastors, in five years. After one year's service in Bahia, (Brazil's largest Afro-Brazilian population) they were successful in exceeding the original mandate. Through old fashioned nightime evangelistic campaigns, and the lure of a Bible Training Center for ministerial candidates, their expectations were greatly surpassed.~~~ Pastor Roger has returned to the United States seeking to raise awareness of God's love, along with seeking ways to help an impoverished people come to the knowledge and riches in Jesus Christ. His message is one of hope and reconciliation to a lost and dying world, through Jesus Christ. This land is ripe for harvest as the Holy Ghost sweeps the country in these present days.
