Statement of Faith

We believe the bible to be the inspired and only infallible written Word of God
We believe that there is One God, Eternally existent in Three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the blessed Hope, which is the rapture of the Church of God which is in Christ, at His return.
Be believe the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance: faith in the precious blood of Jesus Christ and being baptized in water.
We believe that regeneration by the Holy Ghost is absolutely essential for personal salvation.
We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the Cross provides healing for the human body in answer to "believing" in prayer.
We believe that the baptism in the Holy Ghost, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for it.
We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by Whose indwelling, the Christian is enabled to live a holy and separated life in this present world.
AMEN.

Bible passage for the Week

Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech. And not a Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished. But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same veil untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which veil is done away in Christ. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart. Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away. Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
II Corinthians 3: 12-18

Bible Brain Teaser

The editor was recently challenged by the "brain teaser" listed below. There are names of 16 books of the Bible mentioned in the paragraph below. See how many you can find. (The editor found all 16.)

"I once made a remark about the hidden books of the Bible. It was lulu, kept people looking so hard for facts...and for others it was a revelation. Some were in a jam, especially since the names of the books were not capitalized. But the truth finally struck home to numbers of our readers. To others it was a real job. We want it to be a most fascinating few moments for you. Yes, there will be some really easy ones to spot. Others may require judges to help them. I will quickly admit it usually takes a minister to find one of them and there will be loud lamentations when it is found. A little lady ays she brews a cup of tea so she can concentrate better. See how well you can compete. Relax now for there really are sixteen names of the books of the Bible in this paragraph."

One preacher found 15 books in 20 minutes...but it took him three weeks to find the sixteenth one!
