ARTICLE OF FAITH
STATEMENT OF FAITH

1. We believe in One God, maker of the Heavens and Earth.

2. We believe that there is only ONE GOD who has three manifestations. He is manifested as Father in Creation, Son in Redemption and Holy Ghost in dwelling Spirit.

3. We believe that Jesus was Mary’s Son and Mary’s God, Creator and creature, God manifested in the flesh; that the flesh of Jesus was the same as ours with the exception that it had no sin; that Jesus was the eternal Father made visible, apart from whom there is no God. We believe that at the final consummation of all things there will be only ONE GOD and that will be our Lord Jesus Christ. (Tim. 3:16; John 10:30; Col. 7:6-17; Isa. 9:6; Luke 2:11; Rev. 1:8).

4. We believe that the Bible is the inerrant word of God. It was written by Holy men of God and inspired by the Holy Spirit of God.

5. We believe in Personal Salvation of believers through confession of their faith in Jesus our Lord; through his shed blood.

6. We believe that the New Birth ("being born again") includes a genuine repentance, water baptism in Jesus name and the baptism of the Holy Ghost evidenced by the speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. (Acts 2:5; 10:44-48; 19:1-6; 1 Cor 12:12-27; Gal. 3:26-28; Rom. 6:3-4; John 3:5; Acts 2:38).

7. We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit accompanied by the initial evidence of "speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance". (Acts 2:4)

8. We believe in Divine Healing through faith, and that healing is a benefit of the atonement.

9. We believe in the Nine Gifts of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 12) and that these gifts are given throughout the body of Christ and are in operation today.

10. We believe in the Imminent Return of our Lord Jesus Christ for His Church (His Bride).

11. We believe there is a literal Heaven and Hell. Heaven is the place of eternal rest for the Saints and Hell is the place of the Unsaved.

12. We believe in the Great Commission, and outreach to the poor and lost in spirit. (Mark 16:15-16).

13. We believe in the Ordinances of the Church: Water Baptism-symbolizing the death, burial, and resurrection with Christ in the newness of life (Matthew 28:19; Acts 10:47-48). Lord’s Supper-symbolizing the broken body and shed blood of Jesus Christ as the covenant between God and Man (1Cor. 11:24-28).

CHURCH COVENANT

Having been led, as we believe by the Spirit of God to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Saviour, and on the profession of our Faith; having been baptized in the name of Jesus, we do in the presence of God, Angels and this Assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter Covenant with one another, as one body in Christ.

"WE ENGAGE THEREFORE, by the aid of the Holy Ghost, to walk together in Christian love." John 13:34-35

"TO STRIVE for the advancement of this Church in Knowledge, holiness and comfort to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its worship, ordinances, disciplines and doctrines." Eph. 4:12-13

"TO CONTRIBUTE cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expense of the Church, the relief of the poor, and spread of the gospel through all nations." 1 Cor. 16:2

"WE ALSO ENGAGE to maintain family and secret devotions, to religiously educate our children." Deut. 6:6-7, Eph. 6:4

"TO SEEK the salvation of our kindred acquaintances." Luke 19:10, John 20:21

"TO WALK circumspectly in the world; to be just in our dealings, faithful in our engagements and exemplary in our deportment; to avoid all tattling, backbiting and excessive anger." Phil. 2:14-15

"TO ABSTAIN from the sale and use of intoxicating drinks as a beverage." Rom. 14:21

"TO BE ZEALOUS in our efforts to advance the kingdom of our Saviour" Titus 2:14

"WE FURTHER ENGAGE to watch over one another with Christian brotherly love; to remember each other in prayer; to aid each other in sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian Sympathy in feeling and courtesy in speech; to be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation and mindful of the rules of our Saviour to secure it without delay." Rom. 15:1-3

"WE MOREOVER ENGAGE that when we remove from this place we will, as soon as possible unite with some church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word." Acts 2:46-47

And not unto Him who brought again from the dead, our Lord Jesus, be power and glory forever, AMEN.
