You are welcome to join us any Sunday at 11:00 AM.
May o4, 2008
Well, It's been some days, but we are back with you and thanking God for His many blessings. The new year is off and running, it's already MAY! The service was good today, many out to worship and the Lord's Supper was observed. The Senior Choir provided the music and the #2 Usher Board was at its' post. Pastor asked Are you trying to wash the blood away? He spoke from Matthew 27:24 how Pilot, when he could not free Jesus, washed his hands, declaring he was innocent of the blood of an innocent man. Many times, when we allow ourselves to be guided by "crowd or mob" mentality we are ready to wash our hands or deny the Blood. We must be careful, that we live that others will see the results of the shed blood in our lives. A good message to think about when we are surrounded by the crowds of life. Following the service, the Steward Board had Christian Caps to sell, to assist us in our witness. Have a great week and BE BLESSED!
PASTOR RICHARD G.STEWART
Our Pastor continues to allow the love of God to shine out of his life and into the lives of others. Daily he provides services to the homeless and needy. Thank you for what you will do to assist in this ministry. BE BLESSED!

The School meets after school and on Saturday under the direction of James "Pappy" Martin. Instruction is offered in Piano, Organ, Drum, wind instruments, and Guitar. We are preparing now for our Summer Recital on June 16th in the evening. Our Drum & Bugle Core will march in the Juneteenth Parade on the 16th earlier in the day at M.L.King Park. See 'ya there!
Soup Kitchen
We continue serving a meal Monday thru Friday to any hungry person. This ministry has been in operation since Nov. 19, 1990. We just observed our 17th Anniversary on Nov. 19, 2007. A special Anniversary Dinner was held at 6 PM. some 250 diners, volunteers and well wishers enjoyed the dinner. Special gifts were given to the volunteers. Our Thanksgiving Dinner was held on Nov. 22nd (Thanksgiving Day) and we also had a full house. We thank God for the many volunteers coming out to serve the hungry. Our Christmas Dinner was served on Christms Day(December 25th)145 people showed up to eat and 40 volunteers came to serve the meal. A gift bag was given to each diner. These are the times when God enables us to go beyond the call of duty and give people a gift of love wrapped in hope and tied off with a smile. During these special times we can gladly accept donations of food and gifts.
OUTREACH CENTER PROJECT
A Special Reception was held on Mar. 13th at 5:30PM at which time The LINKS presented financial contributions to a number of local organizations. We are one to receive funds for our Outreach Program and Soup Kitchen. At present we are seeking to secure seating for 300 for the Banquet Room. Interest is picking up, on using our building. We have a number of community teams using the gym for basketball and others using it for Dinners, Receptions, Bridal & Baby Showers and meetings. As a way of continuing to reach out to those in need, showers are available during Soup Kitchen hours (11:00 am to 1:00 pm). We also have a new Outreach Counselor, Bro. Frank Williams, who seeks to provide a varity of services to those homeless or in need. If you are a Human Service Agency and have a service to share, please call him @ 716-856-4943. Share your information with him in order for us to partner with like-minded individuals. Consider making a donation to this project or stop by for a tour or additional information. The Durham Memorial Child Development Center is steady with children. There is still space available for daycare and our after school program. Head Start is full and has a waiting list. Stop by anytime. Although we are using the new building, we still have one unfinished floor. We are looking for Grants/Funding to complete the top floor in this building, which will include Office Space as well as Meeting Rooms. Our goal is to provide Senior Day Care, as well as additional After School Tutoring programs. We are short $175,000.00 and need your assistance. Please call for additional information.
SEE IT THROUGH
No matter what you go through, never become so discouraged that you give up. Stay focused and SEE IT THROUGH and, lift as you climb. You are the master of your faith and the captain of your soul.
