Worship Services for the Deaf</h3>
Eternal Mercy Lutheran Church for the Deaf seeks to meet the <BR>
unique needs of the Deaf Community. All services feature "Total<BR>
Communication", with Sign Language and Voice used simultaneously.<BR>
We rent from a hearing church, but we have our own separate <BR>
worship area. We have an active "Sign" choir led by Lordy Smith.<BR>
Our congregational President is Oma K. Presley<BR>
The East Memphis Deaf Basketball Team practices in our gym.<BR>
We have a monthly meal and fellowship time at the start of each<BR>
month. On Wednesday evenings we have a special Worship service<BR>
with music and Bible Study. This service is held at <BR>
Oakville Nursing Home on Old Getwell Rd. 7 PM <BR>
On Sundays, taped music is used<BR>
in our worship services for the benefit of the hearing children <BR>
and hearing spouses of some members,<BR>
as well as members who are hard of hearing. We occassionaly <BR>
offer Sign Language classes. Call for more information!<BR>
