Church History

In 1969 a group of Christians in the Nebo Community wanted to begin a new work for Christ. They started out by Faith, and Trinity Hill Mission began. An empty garage building was loaned to the people to have services in,but much work had to be done before services could begin. In the meantime services were held in the homes of families who started the church. The first service was held November 16, 1969. Money was borrowed to buy material to finish the church. We thank God for each family who worked or gave something toward getting the work done for Christ, and we are sure our Heavenly Father will reward them. This body of christians worked hard and God blessed the work to make a house of worship ready. The first service was held in the new building Sunday, December 7th,1969.On sunday, December 21,1969, There was an organizational service for Trinity Hill Freewill Baptist Church at 3:00pm. The executive board of the Blue Ridge Association met to set the church in order. Five Pastors were present and the church voted to adopt treatise and articles of Faith, along with the church covenant. Officers were elected and charter members signed the resolution papers. The church was accepted into the Blue Ridge Association. Trinity Hill Freewill Baptist Church helps in home and foreign missions, helping with our rest homes and other programs when called on by the association. Since the church was organized, there has been added ten new clsssrooms, The church has been bricked, A fellowship hall was built and later expanded. More land was purchased, and a new large parking lot was built. God has greatly blessed Trinity Hill Freewill Baptist Church with four ministers coming from it. They are: Rev.Joe Helms, Rev. Bill Thomas, Rev.Dennis Hensley, and Rev. Dean Owenby. Trinity Hill Freewill Baptist Church is now a member of the Foothill Association in North Carolina. Our new pastor, Rev. CHURCH COVANENT

Having given ourselves to God, by faith in Jesus Christ, and adopted the WORD of God as our rule of faith and practice, We now give ourselves to one another by the will of God in this solemn covenant. We promise by His grace to love and obey Him in all things, to avoid all appearance of evil, to abstain from all sinful amusements and unholy conformity to the world, from all sanction of the use and sale of intoxicating beverages, and to provide things honest in the sight of all men. We agree faithfully to discharge our obligations in reference to study of the Scriptures, secret prayer, family devotion, and social worship, and by self-denial, faith, and good works endeavor to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We will not forsake the assembling of ourselves togeather for church conferences, public worship, and the observance of the ordinances of the Gospel, nor fail to pay according to our ability for the support of the church, of it's poor, and all it's benevolent work. We agree to accept Christian admonition and reproof with meekness, and to watch over one another in love, endeavoring to "keep the unity of the Spirit" in the bonds of peace, to be careful of one another,s happiness and reputation, and seek to strengthen the weak, encorage the afflicted, admonish the erring, and as far as we are able, promote the success of the church and of the Gospel. We will everywhere hold Christian principle sacred and Christian obligations and enterprises supreme; the influence of Christ in society; constantly praying and toiling that the Kingdom of God may come, and His will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. To this end we agree to labor for the promotion of education and denominational enterprises, the support of Missions, the success of Sunday Schools, and evangelistic efforts for the Salvation of the world. And may the God of peace sanctify us wholly, and preserve us blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
