METROPOLITAN Ministries 2010
THANKSGIVING FOOD GIVE AWAY…Thanksgiving year 2009, Metropolitan provided over 15 families with Thanksgiving Groceries, with a Turkey in every box.
CHRISTMAS FOOD DRIVE…During the Christmas Season Metropolitan provides assistance to families in need, by providing food items and other such items as plates, spoons, cups, napkins, etc.
MISSIONARY BLANKET DONATIONS…The Annual Missionary Worship Service received donations of 21 blankets that were donated to a Woman's Shelter.
"PASTOR'S MISSIONARY TASK FORCE"…The "Pastor's Missionary Task Force" is a Church Sponsored Christian Fellowship, which ministers to those who have a compulsive habit they feel they cannot control. Meetings are held whenever requested by anyone, in either the Church Activities Building or Church Parsonage. Opportunity is given to offer testimonies, and participate in spiritual fellowship that will provide a "Pathway" to Salvation, which will give the addict self-control over addictions. In addition to this mission, every other Thursday the members of the Men's Task force distributes 100 sack lunches to the homeless... as well as special bags for the homeless women... all are well received.

Each Thursday at 5:30pm
BIBLE/PRAYER WARRIORS…Teams of 3 to 5 members of the Wednesday Bible Study/Prayer Band visit a member on the sick and shut in monthly to spend time in Bible Study and Prayer with those on our Sick and Shut in list. Special visitation is given to members who have been hospitalized. There are "Field Warriors" who make the visitations, and there are "Support Warriors" who stay home and pray for the Field Warriors as they visit.

FIRST LADY LOVE CONTACTS…Currently, The First Lady, Sis. Judith Colbert telephone calls each member on the Church's Sick and Shut in List to encourage them, and have telephone prayer time. She also sends each sick and shut in member the previous Sunday's Church Bulletin, and reports on Church Activities. It is her plan to recruit young ladies that she can mentor and lead them to continue this ministry.
