Statement of Mission

"With the guidance of the Holy Spirit and God's Almighty Love, we proclaim Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. In Him, we strive to honor the past, celebrate the present, and welcome the future."

About Our Church

Our unassuming, diverse, and very welcoming congregation holds to the traditional teachings of the Episcopal Church, while continually seeking new and exciting ways in which to glorify God, enrich the lives of members, and reach out in compassion and love to those in need. The breath taking architecture of our lovely church building provides a remarkable testimony to a loving God, while offering a peaceful, intimate sanctuary in which to worship, pray, sing and learn. Our magnificent pipe organ, maintained by the world-renowned McNeely Organ Company gives dynamic accompaniment to both traditional and new music of reverence and praise. Holy Eucharist is celebrated each Sunday morning, and most services last just over one hour. We also offer valet parking for those who might have trouble negotiating the steep driveway. Our lay Eucharistic visitors bring Holy Communion to the sick and shut-ins requesting it. There is a powerful emphasis here on the well-being and spiritual growth of children. They are integral to the life of this vibrant parish. Sunday school classes are held weekly from mid September through the end of May. Our youngest members enjoy fun activities and spread their unique joy as our, Grace Angels. Adult Bible study is also offered, along with childcare. The kids are also vital to our worship, and return to the sanctuary toward the end of each Sunday service to share in the Holy Eucharist, hymns, prayers, and announcements about church events. Grace Church has long been known in the area for it's delicious suppers, and food and fellowship events happen throughout the year. Among these are our annual parish picnic in late September, and the scrumptious Palm Sunday pancake breakfast. Attention is paid to every detail of providing a clean, wholesome, and safe environment in which all can feel welcome, learn and grow. All teachers and those who care for children are required to maintain "Safe Church" training and certification as required by the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut. We are about reaching out and caring for others. Members contribute generously to a variety of international and local causes including, the Heppa Project, Church Women United, and Habitat for Humanity, the Norwich Area Clergy Association Food Locker, and the St. Vincent de Paul Community Dining Room. Our children learn the importance of giving as well with a host of activities, including visits to nearby nursing homes. A special time of healing takes place at the conclusion of the service on the first Sunday of each month. Grace Episcopal Church is a member of Norwich Churches Together, the area ecumenical counsel. /Upcoming Events/ Welcome CT Bishop Suffregan Laura Ahernes - Sun., October 12.
