History of Triedstone Missionary Baptist Church

- On November 27, 1910, five faithful servants started the Triedstone Missionary Baptist Church.
- In early 1911, the Reverend Joseph Only was installed as the first pastor of Triedstone.
- On August 27, 1911, the membership under the auspices of the Holy Ghost presented their petition before the Council of Churches of Beaver and Allegheny County. - Reverend Joseph Dozier, charter member and former trustee became the second pastor. Under his leadership, the church moved from the Logstown section to Plan 11 into one of the Jones School buildings. - Reverend S. C. Means, the third pastor secured the land on which the church now stands. Construction of the basement began immediately. - Reverend H. H. Jones, the fourth pastor completed the construction of the basement thus making it more convenient to hold worship services. - Reverend William H. Harris, the fifth pastor was successful in his attempts to have the first mortgage burning in 1935. Reverend Harris left to form his own church named Holy Institutional Missionary Baptist Church (a nearby church). - Reverend Grant Roberts, the sixth pastor was a marvelous man from Waycross, Georgia. He energetically initiated plans for the erection of a 550 seated sanctuary. With help of families, who used their homes for collateral, a loan was acquired and paid off in eleven years. Reverend Roberts had so many accomplishments there are too many to name. Under his great leadership, the church membership rose from 250 to over 500 members. Become one of the largest churches in the Beaver Valley area. Reverend Roberts pastored Triedstone for 39 wonderful years until his retirement on September 19, 1982. - Reverend Edward J. Perdue, the seventh pastor came from Birmingham, Alabama. Reverend Perdue was instrumental in encouraging the youth to participate in the various ministries of the church. He left the church in July, 1986. - Reverend James E. Williams, the eighth pastor. Under his leadership, the steeple was mounted, the fellowship hall was named after the late great Reverend Roberts, the first church van was purchased, the pews covers were placed, and he named a women to the pulpit and ordained new deacons. - Currently Triedstone his under the leadership of Reverend James Lee Cherry, Jr.
