WHO WE ARE
Saint Mary the Virgin is a parish of the Holy Catholic Church (Anglican Rite) located in Tampa, Florida under the Bishop Ordinary of the Diocese of the Resurrection.
WE SHALL CONTINUE TO WITNESS TO CHRIST'S GOOD NEWS AND MAINTAIN OUR VISION OF A TRULY CATHOLIC CHURCH, EXPRESSING THAT CATHOLICITY IN AN ANGLICAN WAY. THIS IS NOT THE SAME AS EXPRESSING ANGLICANISM IN A CATHOLIC WAY. WE ARE CATHOLICS OF THE ANGLICAN RITE , NOT CATHOLIC ANGLICANS.
We use traditional Gregorian plainchant which has been used in the Church for many centuries. Our liturgy is the Mass according to an adapted Sarum use. Central to the Sarum Rite is the Gregorian Canon of the Mass, which is contained in the authorized People's Missal of the Anglican Catholic Church. It is fitting that this Canon be celebrated as nearly as possible within its original setting, rather than haphazardly interpolating it into post-reformation liturgies.
