Started in December of 1990, the Gano family is Drew and Martha, Morgan and Aaron. Martha and Drew met while attending Grace College and were married after Drew graduated in 1990. Martha is originally from Hickory, North Carolina and Drew is from Columbus, Ohio. We moved to Elizabethton, Tennessee in 1993 to attend Moody Aviation, Moody Bible Institute's missionary aviation training program.
We were introduced to Missionary Flights International while attending Moody Aviation in Elizabethton. Drew graduated 1996 and we were invited to join MFI in August of 1997. We will begin serving with MFI August 24, 1998.
Drew will be serving as a pilot / mechanic with Missionary Flights helping to maintain and fly the fleet of three Douglas DC-3 cargo and passenger airplanes; Martha will be involved in the all-important support role helping whenever needed to host families on their way to or from the West Indies and helping with Spanish Translation.
Missionary Flights International (MFI) is a non-profit technical faith mission which supplies a vital link with home for over 550 missionaries representing over 120 organizations and denominations in Haiti, the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas.
Not only does MFI supply a low-cost way for missionaries and their families to travel to and from the islands, MFI also supplies them with mail service and cargo transportation (over 10,000 pounds a WEEK to Haiti!). The capacity of MFI's aircraft (Douglas DC-3's) allows missionary families to take their personal effects and equipment with them on the same flight, thus saving time and money. This also insures the arrival of their support equipment without having to depend on less reliable avenues of shipping.
MFI's goal is to help affiliated missionaries serving in the West Indies be more
effective as they spread the saving message of Jesus Christ to those who desperately need
to hear His Good News.

Because Missionary Flights is supported in the tradition of the faith mission, staff members raise their personal support from missions-minded friends and churches. Missions like MFI enable Christians, through prayer and financial support, to have an active part in seeing the message and love of Christ brought to a dark world.
We started August of last year and are feeling right at home with MFI and our work
here. We are still in the process of developing our support team, if you would like more
