Where Christ has not yet been preached...

I have always made it my ambition to preach the Gospel where Christ has not yet been preached. Ever since I was four years old I have known that this was to be a part of the purpose for my life. When ministering in Cameroon I will seek to proclaim the gospel in villages that have not yet heard it, and to equip, inspire, and enable national Cameroonian churches to do the same.

Discipleship

When I think of the word discipleship, here are some words and phrases that come to mind.
Life-on-life: I believe that discipleship does not usually happen in a formal classroom setting, but rather in the context of people's everyday lives. I want to live everyday life with people and weave the truths of Scripture into conversation about everyday things.
Incarnational: I believe that it is important for missionaries to relate to people and to become like the people they are mininstering to in whatever ways they can, while keeping to the truths of the gospel. That way they can build deeply into peoples lives and invest in them on a personal level. Prayerful: I believe that prayer is not just important, its crucial. I would not dare to try to disciple anyone without much prayer. I believe that in discipleship, as in anything in the Christian life, dependance on God is our greatest potential strength. Long-Term: It took Jesus three years to disciple twelve men. I do not hope to take any less time. But is I do it well, by His grace, then I believe that the few that I do disciple will in tern disciple others, who will in turn disciple more people who will also disciple.
