�COST
TRUST� is a legally
registered as a Public charitable Trust as a Social Service Non-Governmental
organization, functioning since 2001, and also registered under the section 12A
Indian Income Tax 1961 and also registered under the section 80G of the Indian
Income Tax Act 1961, planning and implementing Developmental programmes for
sustainable development of deprived, deserving and disadvantaged communities in
Indian Remote and Rural region. It was set up in order to tackle the problems
of Health and Poverty in Tamil Nadu State, especially for women and children.
Adopting integrated
approach and it functions in three Districts namely, Dindigul, Madurai and
Kanyakumari Tamil State in south India. Over the years it has developed an
admirable rapport with the local people, the Youth and women federations, the
Network Partner NGOs, Local administration bodies and govt., departments.

COST visions to create an able society by
providing equal opportunities and accessibilities for all to develop themselves
to attain sustainability in their broad based social streamline.
Mission:
COST TRUST is
committed to the welfare of people from the most underprivileged society
without distinction of caste, creed, gender or color. Its emphasis is on
assisting the women & children and youths who are the citizens of tomorrow
and the disabled who need a support to help them join mainstream society,
through their total participation in the programmes to attain over all
development adopting integrated approach, particularly reaching the unreached

How does COST select an area
for its work?
NGOs / CBOs /
community groups approach for possible development co-operation. Thereupon COST
Staff, representatives along with the local contact agency visit the area,
conduct focus group discussions and then determine the need of the area. Once
the area and the issues are identified through various proven tools - PRA,
group based discussion, survey and collection of information from available
sources - baseline indicators of poverty are established. With the help of the
community the issues are discussed by all, listed, prioritized and then action
is taken.
