Rescuing the Homeless for Jesus Christ
New Life Rescue Ministries has been reaching out to homeless persons since 1990. During that time more than 2,000 homeless men have been helped with safe shelter, three filling meals daily, clothing, and best of all the life changing message of the Lord Jesus has been shared through its men's shelter division, the AREA RESCUE MISSION. 1998 the Ministry will expand to reach homeless women and their children. The new women's division will be called the HOUSE OF HOPE. A 3 1/2 acre property has been purchased, construciton drawings and zoning completed, and the fund raising level is very near to the time when the official ground breaking can take place. Statistical highlights: Summary 1996 and 1997 Meals served: 65,231 Nights of lodgings: 24,357 Average nightly attendance 35 Average length of stay (days) 38.5 Number homeless men: 633* Meaningful decisions for Christ: 188 *does not include an average 18% resident return rate. Rev. Gregory Sprague has come this week to serve at the mission as our new Program Director. He has been in rescue mission work for many years, and we are praying that God will bless the mission through his ministry.
