Statement of Purpose
To meet the desire, the call of God to the monastic life by those who choose an alternate expression to the tradional monastery. The call to a life of monastic focus still goes out today, it is ever new. " Today, if you hear his voice, harden not your hearts. ( Ps.95:7-8 )" Run while you have the light, lest the shadows of death come upon you " ( Jn.12:35 ) We have heard his voice and our hearts are open. With His help and without delay we have formed the- Commnity of St. Benedict. And so it is, we live our lives accordingly to the Word of God and our Patron, St, Bendict.
More About the Community of St. Benedict
We presently live in the world, yet we stay true to our monastic vocation. We share liturgical prayer and the eucharist. We build community. We support each other with our love and our talents. The community is traditional in its form, contemporary in its approach. It is Christian, yet ecumenical. We meet weekly at Angelica Lutheran Church, 1345 S.
