The United Methodist Retirement Homes, Incorporated is a not-for- profit corporation chartered by the State of North Carolina on January 24, 1946 and related by faith to the North Carolina Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church of the Southeastern Jurisdiction. We affirm the Social Principles of the United Methodist Church.
It is our mission to serve United Methodists in the North Carolina Annual Conference and others who desire to live within a Christian Retirement Community and to extend support services beyond our campuses and to ensure the elderly the respect and dignity that is their right as members of the human community.
It is our intent to provide benevolent assistant to those United Methodists who have need, with special reference to those who have rendered exemplary service to the church and community, provided that such can be granted without impairing the ability of the Corporation to operate on a sound financial basis.

We are a division of The Methodist Retirement Homes, Incorporated of Durham, North Carolina. This organization is non-profit with over 40 years of experience in providing the best quality care and accommodations for the residents of our retirement community. Wesley Pines has been in operation for over 18 years, where people have been able to enjoy their retirement years in a community of shared Christian values.
A Relaxed and Carefree Setting
Nestled in the middle of 49 acres one will find Wesley Pines Retirement Community. Situated among pine trees, dogwoods, flowers and rose gardens, it is the perfect setting for relaxed and carefree living. Located in the heart of the sunbelt, Lumberton's year-round climate makes it an ideal place to live.
For your enjoyment there are recreational, educational and cultural opportunities in and around the Lumberton area. Conveniently located are golf courses (with some of the world's best only an hour away in Pinehurst), a 120 acre municipal boating and swimming park, the scenic Lumbee River, state-of-the-art fitness centers, theaters for the performing arts, outdoor dramas, a wide variety of restaurants and shopping/outlet malls. There are two institutions of higher learning, Robeson Community College and The University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
Within minutes of Wesley Pines is Southeastern Regional Medical Center, a licensed 319 bed facility, which provides Robeson County and the surrounding counties with comprehensive health care.
For those Seniors who enjoy the beach or mountains, Wesley Pines Retirement Community is within an hour's drive of the beautiful North Carolina coast and only a few hours away from the Great Smoky Mountains. The city is easily accessed from I-95, US-74, and US-211. With all these advantages, Wesley Pines Retirement Community is not only an ideal place to live, but an ideal place one can easily call home.
Types of Accommodations
Our villas feature two bedrooms, two full baths, living room, dining area, kitchen, private drive with carport and ample yard space. They are ideal for people interested in the privacy of an individual dwelling without its upkeep. There are three floor plans to choose from beginning at approximately 1200 square feet of heated space.
The duplex designed apartments have two bedrooms, living room, bath, eat-in kitchen, walk-in closets, wall-to-wall carpeting, private entrances, yard space for gardening and a nice sun porch. They are approximately 930 square feet of heated space and located near the main building.
Main Building:
For independent retirees who prefer the homelike atmosphere and conveniences that the main building provides, we offer private rooms with a full bath. These spacious rooms are decorated with the personal furnishings and accessories of the resident. Accessible areas such as kitchenette, laundry facility, dining area, beauty salon, chapel, library, post office, and administrative offices are all located withing the main building.
Private rooms with a full bath are available for individuals who are partially independent, yet unable to completely manage their activities of daily living. Personal services provided at this level include assistance with light housekeeping, bed making, laundry, bathing, dressing, meals, and taking medicines. The assisted living rooms are furnished by the resident.
The on-site health care center is provided for the future care of our residents. It provides accommodations for intermediate and skilled nursing and offers private and semi-private rooms. This area ahs a 24-hour, seven days a week licensed nursing service, as well as rehabilitative and restorative services.
