St. Luke History

Saint Luke Church of God in Christ began with a vision given to God’s people to establish a church in Pelahatchie, MS., where there had never been a Church of God in Christ before. St. Luke had its humble beginning September 19, 1997. With God’s approval, St. Luke C.O.G.I.C. purchased 4.25 acres of land on September 9, 2003 in Pelahatchie, MS. The pastor continuously prayed, fasted, and heeded to God’s words. The ground breaking began 2010 and the church construction was underway with King Metal Building, Inc. Many prayers went up and plenty of hard work was done to bring the vision to life. Under the supervision of God and the management of Pastor Nathaniel Henson, Sr. the membership has continued to grow, souls have been saved, people have been healed and lives have been transformed. St. Luke has experienced setbacks of every kind. Through faith, prayer, and dedication to the vision, we continue to overcome every obstacle placed in our path. Today we are in this beautiful edifice able to comfortably worship and exalt God.
