New Freedom Baptist Church of Baltimore City

CHURCH HISTORY

New Freedom was started during the month of October 1994 in the home of then Pastor Ronald L. Howard, Sr. after resigning from the St. John's Baptist Church.  The whole house was used for the church.  Our Youth Church was started in the basement of the house.  The choirs sung, the ushers ushered.  We had Deacons, Ushers, Trustees, musicians and everything but a building of our own. In January 1998 the church moved to York          wood Elementary School and had services in the auditorium for the adults and the youth used the cafeteria.  By the grace of GOD we moved into our own church building and put out our sign, New Freedom Baptist Church, in October 1998. 

Pastor Ronald L. Howard, Sr. was the pastor for seven (7) years and was consecrated to the office of the Bishop on August 26, 2001 and was led by GOD not to Pastor while serving in the office of the Bishop.  Our Constitution and By-Laws state that the next most senior minister should be strongly considered for the office of the Pastor.  The baton fell on Elder Andrea C. Howard.  She was installed as the Pastor of New Freedom October 28, 2001. And the rest is, as they say, history.
