Good Shepherd Anglican Church, Waynesboro

About Us

Good Shepherd is a recently founded Biblically-orthodox Anglican Church located in Waynesboro, Virginia, serving eastern Augusta County, Waynesboro, northern Nelson County, and western Albemarle County.  We are a friendly and growing group that meets at Bethany Lutheran Church, 712 W. Main St., Waynesboro.  It is anticipated that this will be our permanent home as Bethany Lutheran is moving to a new facility on Goose Greek Road in spring 2019.

Good Shepherd does not believe in reinventing Anglicanism, but rather upholds Biblical teaching and accepts as its secondary doctrinal standards the Thirty-nine Articles of Religion (1571) as revised for the Protestant Episcopal Church in 1801, the first and second Books of Homilies of the Church of England and the 1662 Book of Common Prayer.  We worship according to the 1928 Book of Common Prayer, and use the 1940 Hymnal.  Holy Communion is celebrated every Sunday with Evening Prayer being used as the Liturgy of the Word on the first and third Sundays of the month.
