The Rev. Dr. James A. Jones, Pastor's Bio

 REV. DR. JAMES ANTHONY JONES

Rev. Dr. James A. Jones was born in Smithfield, VA, December 20, 1957, to Ruth Ann and the late Alvan D. Jones, Sr.

He attended Isle of Wight County Public Schools.  In 1994, he received his Associate of Arts Degree from Christopher Newport University. In 1996, he received his Bachelors of Theology degree from United Christian Bible College in Goldsboro, NC and in 1998 he received his Master of Divinity Degree.  In 2000, he received a certificate in Christian Education and his Doctoral of Divinity Degree from the same school.

In 1989, Dr. Jones answered the call to preach the gospel and was licensed and ordained in the same year. In 1990, Dr. Jones was extended the call to pastor Galilee Baptist Church in Newport News, VA, where he continues to serve.

Dr. Jones is blessed to be a multi-gifted gospel preacher/teacher and musician.

He currently resides in Smithfield, VA, with his very supportive wife, M. Lynnette Johnson-Jones, and their two children, Anthony Jerrod and Alexis JaLynne Jones.

Dr. Jones says that he’s just a nobody, trying to tell everybody, about somebody who can save anybody!
