About The Exodus Assembly

Birthed and delivered in the furnace of affliction, the Exodus Assembly and her progenies endeavor to rescue lost souls from demonic intrusion in the earth realm, use her eagle’s wings to soar into realms and dimensions granted to her by God’s sovereign, omniscient authority, and bring souls on her back from the captivity of demons and devils in the earth realm to a place of perfected praise, prosperity, and peace; to build for God a place of habitation casting out devils and seizing lands, systems and souls for His glory to abide and rule in the earth realm, resulting in divine health, divine provision, and divine relationship.
Shifting from “Heal the Hurt Ministries” to “Palace Perfecting Ministries” is an apostolic, prophetic, and evangelistic expression to the world that God’s ecclesia has successfully shifted from crisis intervention to apostolic intercession; from a poverty and broken mentality to a priestly and kingly anointing. As the Spirit of God within us is utilized to mold and develop character, proper conduct and standards of excellence based on principles of honesty, loyalty to Almighty God and His government, and integrity in everyday living, business and relationships, we endeavor to create atmospheres of royalty, loyalty, success and self-worth. Thus Palace Perfecting Ministries has been formed to parent other ministries that will reach out into communities, states, and nations and unlock doors of prisons that have held captive churches and their leaders, lost souls, systems, and territories and transform them through the Spirit from the kingdom of darkness to the Kingdom of Light.
As we mature in this Spirit of Excellence, our physical environments will change, we will grow in the Wisdom and power of Almighty God, and our mentalities will change “from pig-pen to palace.” Those who once were controlled by poverty, abuse, rejection, etc., will no longer be victims of such, but according to Isaiah 62:3-4, “You shall also be a crown of glory in the hand of God. You shall no longer be termed Forsaken, neither shall your land any more be termed Desolate: but you shall be called Hephzibah (My delight is in her) and your land Beulah (Married); for the Lord delights in you, and your land shall be married.” Therefore, as we the People of God eradicate sin from our lives and progress in Kingdom righteousness, so do the land, the government, and the economy. “The people that do know their God shall be strong, and do great exploits.” Daniel 11:32b.
In April 1997, after Apostle Maxine Evans Gray, who was then called Evangelist Gray, could hear in the Spirit women and children weeping day and night, thinking that she was losing her mind, she began to pray even harder than ever before; and the Lord heard her and instructed her to begin hosting conferences for hurting women and children on her birthday.  When she obeyed, the weeping stopped.  People then began to follow her personal ministry adamantly.  The number increased until the Lord spoke to her to separate from the ministry where she served as assistant pastor and begin her own work, for God is not the author of confusion.  This ministry was first called HEAL THE HURT MINISTRIES.
On July 18,1999, she very reluctantly made the move, and Heal the Hurt Ministries, later renamed Exodus Apostolic Church, came into existence, beginning with Monday evening prayer at the home of Deacon Willie and Evangelist Sandy McIntyre.  Soon after, Elder Emanuel and Minister Cordelia Godfrey opened their doors to the ministry for Thursday Bible Class and Sunday morning services.  Yearning for noonday prayer to continue, the ministry sought diligently for a new location where we would lay out all night in prayer.
In August 1999, the church, having outgrown the living room ministry, relocated to 855 Martin Luther King Drive, where she continued to grow, until in 2001 the church moved to its current location.  Souls have been saved, healed and delivered, and devils have been cast out at the Exodus Assembly!
In September 2001 Pastor Rod Parsley officially ordained Pastor Gray for this new level of leadership, and he became her immediate overseer until 2008. In 2010 she was ascended as an apostle under Apostle Anthony Johnson.  In 2013 her apostleship was confirmed by Apostle Otis Lichlyter, her local overseeing apostle.  In 2014 she was accepted and ordained into Christian International Apostolic Network, under the authority of Bishop Bill Hamon of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.  The impartations and teachings that Apostle Gray has received from CI have enabled her to face insurmountable odds in keeping the ministry alive and vibrant.  She now has apostles all around her who mean her well!   “In a multitude of counselors there is safety!”
Soon after our humble beginning, Prophetess/Pastor Glendora Williams connected with us, and her PROPHETIC ministry “MORE THAN ENOUGH” was brought under the leadership of Apostle Gray.  We celebrate her ministry and the adjoining ministries of the Exodus Assembly:

NEW LIFE POWER AND PRAISE CONFERENCE
Our annual conference is the highlight of the ministry, held each year during Apostle Gray’s birthday week.  Beginning in 1997 as HEAL THE HURT CONFERENCE FOR HURTING WOMEN AND CHILDREN, the conference has successfully reached out to entire family units with the general slogan “God is fighting for the family.” Men’s conferences, women’s conferences (Daughters of Sarah), and youth rallies are held at intervals throughout the year.

The ministry has received special recognition and honors from the City of Jackson and the State of Mississippi, and has been especially recognized and highly regarded by national and international recording artists and ministers!  Having been blessed with a dynamic music ministry that Apostle Gray birthed through the Spirit, the church became even more renowned!  We have hosted such artists as Wess Morgan, James Fortune, Zacardi Cortez, Kierra Sheard, Beverly Crawford, William Murphy, Tasha Cobb, Yvette Williams, and Angela Spivey.
PRAYER MINISTRY

Prayer has always been key at the Exodus Assembly!  Still hosting Monday Evening Miracle Prayer Hour and Thursday 5 a.m. prayer, the ministry also has been noted for children’s prayer ministry, noonday special prayer, around-the-clock-intercessory prayer. In 2015, the Spirit of the Lord birthed at the Exodus Assembly the international WOODSHED watch prayers, to pray for major situations and have successfully stopped hurricanes from making land, tornadoes from touching down, shutting the mouths of satanic lions, cutting off the heads of serpents, robbing scorpions of their stings, destroying the power of witches and warlocks, and causing giants to fall!  Many have been healed of cancer, heart conditions, and other killer diseases. God is our Healer!

Our Pastor

Maxine Evans Gray, a proud mother and grandmother, is a native of Crystal Springs, MS.  God called her from her career as an insurance claims adjuster and accountant to evangelism in 1984 while serving for 16 years with her former husband at Victory Pentecostal Church.  She was ordained in 1985 by the late Bishop Avant Lytle of Jamaica, NY, under the leadership of Bishop Charles and Lady Velma Johnson at Pentecostal Temple Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Jackson, MS where she served in several capacities. She also served in many capacities for Living Witnesses of the Apostolic Faith, Bishop A.C. Richards.

In 1997 she began to host conferences for hurting women and children, and from the conferences Heal the Hurt Ministries was conceived and birthed.  This ministry quickly became the vital force that kept many people from the grips of death and destruction.  In 2001 Heal the Hurt Ministries began separate worship services in inner city Jackson and adopted the name Exodus Apostolic Church.  The ministry has since expanded the vision and has chosen the name THE EXODUS ASSEMBLY. She was again ordained by Pastor Rod Parsley (World Harvest Church Ministerial Fellowship, Columbus, Ohio), her mentor and pastor. The season ended with Pastor Parsley too soon, and she tearfully obeyed God’s voice to move on.  In 2009 she ascended as an apostolic mother by the laying on of hands by Apostle Anthony B. Johnson and Prophet Bonitto Sappleton.  In June 2013 her apostleship was confirmed and consecrated by the laying on of hands of Apostle Otis Lichlyter (Living Hope Ministries), who is now her immediate overseer in conjunction with Christian International Fellowship (Bishop Bill Hamon).

Widely recognized as a “Mother of Israel” many souls around the country attribute their salvation, healing, and deliverance to Apostle Gray.  Several ministries have been birthed under her authority that have grazed the City of Jackson and the State of Mississippi and have infiltrated tough neighborhoods in the City, invoking change.  She has been guest speaker for campus ministries at Tougaloo College, Jackson State University, and Hinds Community College Utica Campus.  She has also spoken at Black History Celebrations for the JSU Alumni Association and Jackson City Hall and is the first Black and female to minister in several rural Mississippi towns and communities.

Apostle Gray has received many awards and recognitions for her services, including an award as Outstanding Citizen in the State of Mississippi in 2004, the Fannie Lou Hamer Award in 2005, Drum Major for Justice Award in 2009, and a special appreciation award in 2010 all from the Jackson, Mississippi City Council; and in 2010 received two nominations for Strong Women Awards for leadership and perseverance sponsored by Lifetime Television for Women and Comcast Spotlight.  She was also honored to perform the invocation at the first annual Mayors’ Prayer Breakfast, with the honorable Governor Haley Barbour as guest speaker.

She is currently a member of the Board of Chaplains for the Hinds County, Mississippi Sheriff’s Department, under the respected authority of Sheriff Tyrone Lewis.  She also works closely with the Jackson Police Department, and is a member of the 35th graduating class of JPD Citizens Police.

Apostle Gray and Exodus spend much time in prayer, supplication, and outreach, and believe that everyone should be allowed the privilege of knowing God and His amazing grace!  Therefore, they reach out to the poor, drug addicts, prostitutes, AIDS/HIV victims, and the like, and have seen many of them totally free and delivered!  She is a member of the women’s group BOLD (Beautiful Ordained Ladies of Destiny), Christian International, and the National Organization of Christians. Her major mission is to be used of God to change mindsets into the knowledge of a higher purpose, shift individuals into the place of Abrahamic Covenant, and restore life and health to the family unit, beginning with the head.
