Elder J.S. King arrived to Los Angeles in 1951. With his family, he untied with "Palm Lane C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Bishop Conedy in 1952. Elder King Laboured as deacon and a Sunday School teacher with the class of 75 brothers. During this time Palm Lane moved from 11904 Compton Avenue to it's present locaton of 11730 South Central Avenue. Elder King was assigned to "Wayside" by Bishop Harold Conedy. Brother Jimmie Moats was a deacon and Sister Dessie Moats was a Sunday School teacher at Palm Lane C.O.G.I.C. in 1954. Elder King permisson from Bishop Harold Conedy for Deacon Jimmie Moats & Sis. Moats to help him with his Ministry. After the passing of Elder J.S. King in 1998 assistant pastor Elder C.A. Cole became the pastor of Greater Wayside C.O.G.I.C.
