Emmanuel United Anglican Church

Who are we?
We are a new church to the Waco area. At this time we are small, but filled with the Holy Spirit. We are not a part of, nor affiliated with, the Episcopal Church USA. We are, however, recognized by the Archbishop of Cantebury and the Anglican Communion as an associate member of Forward in Faith North America.

Our Mission:
We were established to offer ourselves as servants to those in need, through worship, preaching, and healing ministries. We offer an Episcopal home to all people seeking to know the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and especially welcome are members of the Episcopal Church USA, who in good conscience can no longer accept or tolerate the many un-Biblical changes that have occurred in the past and continue to be made in that once great organization.

What we believe:
Our Anglican faith is thoroughly grounded in Holy Scriptures.
We believe the Old and New Testaments are the authentic record of God's revelation of himself, his saving activity, and his moral demands…a revelation valid for all men and for all times.
We hold that the ancient creeds; the Apostles', the Nicene, and the Athanasian, express the faith of the Church: that God is One God in three persons (The Trinity) Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and that God the Son (Incarnation) became man, was born of a virgin, and through His sinless life, death, and resurrection, gained access for us to God the Father.
We are a sacramental church.
The Anglican Church believes that the sacraments are the outward and visible sign of God's presence with his people.
The two Gospel Sacraments of Baptism and the Eucharist are believed to be "generally necessary to salvation." Five other sacramental rites (Confirmation, Penance, Unction, Marriage, and Holy Orders) are also observed.

How we worship:
We are a liturgical church; that is, our worship is structured.
We pray together in services of worship. Our services involve the whole person, body, mind, and spirit.
We read from Holy Scripture, and our preaching is based on those readings, for deeper understanding.
Our worship contains many customs of the early church, to enhance our praise, not for "show business".
Our central worship is the Holy Eucharist, sometimes referred to as Holy Communion, the Mass, the Lord's Supper, and the Divine Liturgy. It is the service specifically commanded by Jesus in the New Testament.
We use the 1928 Book of Common Prayer and the Anglican (American) Missal as our books of worship. We use the historic Hymnal 1940 for our worship music, and contemporary Christian music for anthems or special music.

We invite you to join us in worship. Our ways are ancient and our faith is unchanging. We stand on the rock of Jesus Christ, as he is made known to us in the teaching of the Holy Apostles, the Holy Church, and the Holy Bible.
We offer you this foundation in order that you may have the peace which the world cannot give; the peace of God which passes man's understanding.

FOR CHRIST'S SAKE, FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE, FOR YOUR SAKE
