Afton Chapel over 100 yrs of Saving Souls.
AFTON CHAPEL was built over 100 yrs ago high up in the Blue Ridge Mts. by local hard working familes to worship their Savior and Lord. They started out in a little Sheep Shed not far from the present day Chapel. Many Many children got their start there and now have scattered through out the Country. Everyone needs a spirtual home. Afton Chapel is small and pure. Some say it is the closest to Heaven you can get, high up on the Mountain. When you walk through the doors you can feel and almost hear the spirt call your name.
When you sit on the seat, the same seat so many have that have went before you you experience a true closeness to God. It is a very personal experience and one I wish everyone could have. We pray for you at Afton Chapel, that you will find your Spirtual Home. God Bless You. and thank you for reading this.
God Opens Doors
God has opened doors for us to reach so many. P.Buckley Moss, a local painter has painted for the past two years a picture of the church and now it hangs in many homes and the spirt of the Lord is in that picture and I know that is a miracle for each and every home it hangs in. We did not even know it was done until we were contacted by her office. We at Afton Chapel put our trust in the Lord and pray that each and everyone who contacts us or walks through our doors will be blessed and their prayer's answered. Up on the riser in a small window pane there is an image of Jesus that appeared several years ago. We feel that is a sign of some kind. To me it is like Jesus is saying "I am here, I see and know all things" Please know that. He is always with us. You and I. God Bless and Keep you and have his grace to shine upon you and give you peace, and give you peace.
