Words has meaning and meaning defines its purpose, therefore lets not look at the word but understand its meaning which defines its purpose. Even the same word can have different meaning, likewise different words can have the same meaning. For instance; the word Salvation in the New Testament differs from Salvation in the Old Testament. Salvation - (Greek) - so-tay-ree'-ah, soteria - rescue or safety (physical or Morally) - deliver, health. salvation, save, saving. Salvation - (Hebrew) - yeshuw'ah, yesh-oo-aw - aid, victory, prosperity, health, help, welfare. Salvation is the most primitive word in the bible, within itself obtains every work of Christ and processes. Even the name (Jesus) means Jehovah Saves. The bible says in (I Peter 2:9), But ye are a chosen generation a royal priesthood, "an holy nation a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:. Here we see the very act of Christ snatching us away from serious peril; saving life from death or harm; delivering from the penalty and power of sin. Salvation can be divided into 3 parts: past, present, future. (1). Past - St. Luke7:50; Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace. 1Corinthian1:18; For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 2 Corinthians 2:15; For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved and in them that perish. Ephesians 2:5; Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace are ye saved). Take notice at each end of these scriptures it Identify that not only we has been saved but is safe. (2). Present - Roman 6:14; For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. Philippians 2:12; Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. Galatians 2:20; I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (3). Future - Roman 13:11; and that, knowing the time, that no it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. Roman 8:29; For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestination to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 1 John 3:2; Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. Salvation belongs to the Lord (Ps 3:8), the Lord giveth salvation to those the need it, and that will accept it. (Luke 19:9-10), and Jesus said unto him, This day is Salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. (St. John 3:16), For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Salvation is not by works but, rather by grace through faith, and is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8,9).
Justification - (Greek) - dik-ah-yo-sis, dikaiosis - also - dik-ah-yo-o, dikaioo - just or innocent, free, justify, be righteous. One of the most important thing concerning Justification is, that only God can justify us. Man cannot justify himself under any circumstances, as to becoming righteous,(Luke 18:14); I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. (Roman 3:24,25); Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation ;through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God. In response to faith in Jesus Christ, God cancels the guilt for the believer's sin and credits righteousness to him. Now, without the deed of the law man is justified, and this is a conclusion, which mean it cannot and will not be changed (Roman 3:27,28), (Hebrew 10:10) By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. The righteousness of God is manifested not under the Law, it is granted through faith in Jesus Christ. Who was delivered for our offenced, and was raised again for our justification,(Roman 4:25). Also, this must be known by the believers, (Galatians 2:16), Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, Even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. Justification and Righteousness has the same meaning, and is inseparably united in scripture by the fat that the same word is used for both,(dikaios," righteous" - dikaioo, "to justify"). Justification is by faith and not of works, with explanation, (Roman 4:1-7), What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found? For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him the justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Even David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputed righteousness without works, saying, blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven and whose sins are covered. When we are justified or made righteous nothing can be charged to the believer, by this God cannot fail, it is his Word, (Roman 8:31-34), What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Justification by faith places us in peace with God through our lord Jesus Christ, and this is right,(Roman 5:1). Much more then, being justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him,(Roman 5:9). One thing we should be mindful of. Just because we are justified by faith and not the deeds of the law, (Roman3:28), Christ fulfilled the law by the death of the cross and shielding his blood,(Matthew 5:17). We should not purposely live in sin, (Roman 6:1) What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin. that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we. that are dead to sin, live any linger therein?
