The church services are unlike what you see in most church services. They always acknowledge first-time visitors and make sure that we say, with all sincerity, "God loves you and so do we!" And they show that love by not just shaking your hand, but with sincere, heartfelt hugs during the meet and greet time. We do a lot of praise and worship, and have a brief time of taking up an offering. Sometimes gospel singers show up, and if they do, we let them sing. Then the pastor let's anyone stand up who has a testimony to tell and tell it. He doesn't ever time the testimonies. Then he begins the sermon, and after that we have a prayer time. You'll LOVE the pastor. He has a wonderful sense of humor. He's one of those few pastors that not only does not care what people wear inside his church, but he dresses casually himself. One time he even cracked a joke and said another pastor said to him, "Be a little more dressed up, and then we can talk about you preaching here." So the pastor joked and said, "Well, if you're that attracted to my arms that they need covering, then I don't want to preach for you." In short, we have an awesome church body. Unfortunately, the pastor does not have an email and is not very good with technology, so I'm running this page for him.
Since the pastor does not have an email, if you want to contact him, you will need to call the number of the church or send snail mail there. He is at the church usually by appointment or when he knows he has something important to do the next day (e.g. conducting a funeral service around the area). The pastor will get back to you as soon as possible. And if you want to talk about something of a very personal nature (e.g. marriage problems, etc.), then that is the avenue you will need to take, as I am not qualified to give advice on those things. I could probably help young singles or give encouragement, but for the most part, you will need to direct your problems to the pastor at the phone number or mailing address mentioned above in the contact information. But if you have any questions about the church, you may email me at the email listed above. (Be sure to put in the subject line who you are and what questions you have about the church). The other thing is this: There is a for sale sign on the church sign. Ignore it. We are still meeting in that place. The pastor does want to move the location someday after he sells his area, but for now, we ARE meeting there, so come on over. And don't bother bringing a watch, because you'll enjoy the church service so much you won't even be keeping track of the time. The pastor also makes an effort to work with other churches. For instance, there was this one church that had for some reason either sold or otherwise lost their property, and the pastor let them share our building and conduct the Sunday service there. If your church ever loses property for any reason or whatever, feel free to contact the pastor. He will gladly share the space, because he understands two things: 1) The CHURCH is the people of God as a WHOLE, and is not in a building. 2) Jesus calls us to unity. 3) Every churchhouse is technically not HIS church or his property, but GOD'S Church and GOD'S property. The pastor and the congregation as a whole is one of the few church bodies that have not forgotten what church and the Christian life are REALLY all about. When I first stepped into this church, I KNEW I was home. So come home! We'll be glad to see you this coming up Sunday (or any Sunday for that matter). Then we invite you to keep coming back.
