ATEMENT OF FAITH FOR THE CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST
We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible written Word of God. We believe that there is One God, eternally existent in Three Persons; God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. We believe in the Blessed Hope, which is the rapture of the Church of God, which is in Christ, at His return. We believe that the only means of being cleansed from sin, is through repentance, faith in the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ and being baptized in water. We believe that regeneration by the Holy Ghost is absolutely essential for personal salvation. We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing prayer. We believe that the baptism in the Holy Ghost according to Acts 2:4 is given to believers who ask for it. We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling, the Christian is enabled to live a holy and seperated life in this present world. AMEN.
Partial Biography of Supt. Joseph T. Hoggard
Supt. Joseph Tony Hoggard was born in the small town of Plymouth, N.C. He was raised by his grandmother (Missionary Mary Toodle Skinner.) It was in his household Superintendent Hoggard learned the joys of salvation. He accepted the Lord at the age of 21. Superintendent Hoggard joined the Saintified Church on Madison in Plymouth. He did his trial sermon at the same church. A few years later he was called into the ministry. Superintendent Hoggard has always been a determined soldier for the Lord. Often marching by his own beat he does not burden himself with the opinions of others. OFten he had to endure the criticism and scorn of others never the less, his motto has been "I will not go back, a charge to keep I have." We the members of Hoggard's Temple Church of God in Christ have had the pleasure and honor of having this bold soldier as a Pastor for over 30 years. Superintendent Hoggard was appointed Superintendent of the Bishop L. B. Davenport District, the very same determination as a pastor is also evident as District Superintendent. By his side is First Lady Janice T. Hoggard. She holds a key position as District Superintendent of Sunday Schools for our great district. Missionary Hoggard is also a determined bold soldier for the Lord. Keep Superintendent and First Lady Hoggard in your prayers, as they perservere and continue to do the work of the Lord
