Vicotry in Christ

Salem Christian Center- Nakuru KITI, Bahati Road P.O. Box 7355, 20100 Nakuru, Kenya E - Mail: 2tim2-19@yahoo.com Preamble We believe the bible has God as its author; salvation for its end; truth, without any mixture of error for its matter and that all scripture is totally true and trustworthy. Vision: To teach, preach and equip the body of Christ (the church) with the Word of Faith. To teach To preach To equip Purpose: To provide an atmosphere and environment, which will foster and nourish the spiritual life development of the church members into a covenant, practiced character, life application service, heartfelt outreach and a mature relationship with God. Major emphasis The Word Prayer & Fasting Praise and Worship (Music) Discipleship (Mat. 5-7) Ministry (Eph. 4:12-14; Rom. 12: 5-8) The kind of Church we are determined to be: 1. We are determined to be a people who know God as Christ has presented Him to us and not as people try to make us believe Him. 2. We are determined to be persons that daily reflect the glory and the character of God through Jesus who lives and works in us. 3. We are yearning to be a community of believers moved upon by the Holy Spirit, knit together in covenant love, making visible the invisible work of salvation to men and women. 4. We are determined to become a community of believers purposed to die to personal ambitions, honor God's delegated authority and commit ourselves to fulfill the ministry for which God has equipped us. 5. We are determined to be a community surrendered to the will of God, pursuing an agreement in everything that we may receive the specific things for which we ask. 6. We are determined to be a community of believers who are united in shamelessly declaring the now-will of God, which renders the mountains of opposition mere specks of dust, driven by faith into the sea of oblivion. 7. We are determined to be a community driven by purpose, dedicated to the Lord's unchanging values and standards, strengthened and restored by God's grace. 8. We are determined to be a community that views every circumstance through the cross, embracing by faith the fact that all seeming defeat is merely a surrender to the miraculous resurrection power of God. (When other people hurt us and we don't react or fight back, it does not mean we are defeated or weak. It means we have surrendered our will to God's will.) The inside determination: 9. We are determined to be a church that worships God in spirit and in truth and open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. 10. We are determined to be a church that teaches the Word of God in simple and applicable way. 11. We aspire to be a church that values the sanctity of relationships and seeks to strengthen them. 12. We are determined to place a high value on the children and the youths and work towards integrating them appropriately into the church. 13. We are determined to be a church that cares for its members and the wider community in the same way that Christ did. 14. We are determined to be a church that possesses a heart for a broader mission fieldwork both regional and international. 15. We are determined to be a church that will support the democratically elected government of the day while we do not compromise our divine role as the voice of God in the society. Our target group: We target the undetached community around about us and beyond, to make everyone hear the message of Christ's salvation. We concentrate on birthing new believers into the kingdom of God. We focus on non-believers in detail. We target those who have been rejected and mistreated from other churches. We target those who have been expelled from other churches with no options of repenting and asking for forgiveness as away of rejoining their fellowship. We target the orphans and the widows in the community We target the HIV/AIDS patients. We target everybody who has need for God's goodness and mercies Note: We do not poach believers from other churches. We do not preach the gospel of hatred and segregation. We do not fight with other churches and other pastors. If they fight us we will leave it to God. If they poach from us it will be ok, provided they are going to teach and provide proper spiritual nourishment to those they take away from us. Nevertheless we will not easily give up on people God has directed to us. Our short-term goals 1. Bi-monthly overnight prayer meetings 2. Revival conventions/conferences in April, August and December. 3. Production of teaching tapes and booklets 4. Publish a book on "CHOICE" 5. Enlisting of covenant partners to start radio ministry. Medium term goals 1. To establish A Christian school (starting with a kindergarten) 2. Bible school for the training of gospel ministers. 3. Conducting ethnic, gender and family reconciliation efforts regionally and abroad. 4. Regional outreaches and conventions 5. Acquiring a Nissan van 6. Life in fulness

Save a Life Ministries International Salem international Christian Center K.I.T.I. Bahati Road P.O. Box 7355, 20100 Nakuru, Kenya 20th July 2006 The inner conviction concerning this ministry: Pleasing God and doing His perfect will in all areas of life. I will not put my heart in wanting a large crowd. I will seek to get people committed to Christ and His church. I will seek to pastor in holiness and straightforwardness. Amen!!! * Raising an altar for God and not just building a physical sanctuary is our main aim and goal. * It is an alter of worship, holiness and repentance. * It will not be a performance hall where people can compete for trophies and recognition. God has not called us for performance and competition. We are called to complete a task. * It should not be a show room where people will come to show off personal glory in dressing pattern, educational level, riches etc. Modesty is God's desire, but nudity and unbecoming dressing competition is always Satanic; and we all know that this is becoming a great challenge to the church in Kenya these days. * It is an alter of no compromise. No one can compromise on God's alter and remain blessed. * Any one who feels not interested in worshipping on this alter as God would want him or her to, will be free to look elsewhere for a place of his or her choice. We don't insist on people staying with us when actually they are not part of us in the heart. They will not be blessed if they stayed. * Note: Do not be bothered by people who would want to be coerced into salvation, into true worship or into church membership. Do not prod people to worship God. It is a matter of choice. If somebody desires to worship the true God in the spirit and truth, he she won't find it hard to follow the rules of that God. Our work is to communicate the truth of God's word; people's responsibility is to practice what they have heard from God. It should not offend any pastor that someone is not willing to commit to salvation and church membership. That matter is between that person and God. It should only concern the pastor that everybody around about his community hears the Word (the gospel). How they respond to it is between them and God. * In any organization there must be rules that govern it. God has rules that govern His kingdom, e.g. whoever comes to me must deny himself, take up the cross and follow me- that is the rule. Whoever calls on the name of God must depart from iniquity- that is the rule, and many more others. We cannot introduce our own rules in the kingdom of God unless we are building our own kingdoms right within God's. (So we desire to walk with guiding principles and positive rules that will define who we are and what our Christian values are.) * Do not zealously fix people into salvation; let the Holy Spirit of God convict them. (Matt. 7:6) * Remember that it is more successful and fulfilling to work with sons and daughters born and raised up in your house (raised in your ministry) genesis 14:14-16). "He led forth his trained men, born in his house, three hundred and eighteen of them…" and conquered an alliance of four kingdoms. * Any person changing from another church to join us must first confess his faith in Christ Jesus openly and study our statement of belief and our local church regulations and guidelines. If he /she agree with them we can confirm him or her into the local church membership. This makes the person to easily and knowledgeably flow with the church's vision. * It is worth noticing that those who are hesitant to commit themselves into a confirmed church membership are not part of the local church family. They might be willing to be there for a few days praying and pondering on the next direction they will take. Allow them to ponder for their next move and make it known to them that you are also praying with them about their destiny and stability. * It is good and important that we know those who are with us and those who are not. It is an indication that someone is not detached from a certain place or thing when you see them hesitant in committing themselves into the church membership. It is an established fact that no one can serve two masters at the same time. When you see some one becoming lukewarm or shifting blames from himself to others, then know that a certain new master is taking over his life and he is willing to follow. * Those who agree to confirm their membership to a local church (congregation) are the: The people with us Are able to support us The people who will pray and stand with us. The people who will not run away from us in the days of trouble The people who will not backbite or frustrate our efforts. Are the people who want to obey God and His instructions. Are the team members/players. They should be trusted and empowered. By the way, anybody who shows disrespect and contempt for God's instructions must not be your close friends or associates. When a biblical instruction is well communicated in its clarity and some one chooses to go against that instruction he or she becomes a dangerous person to work and walk with. Anybody who does not fear God can do anything evil to a fellow human being. Our friends must be people who fear God. Our friends should not entertain what God is not entertaining. Our friends should not accept what God has rejected. We should not be more tolerant than God Himself is. We should not look more spiritual than God. God's word is the standard measurement. My friends and associates must agree with God's standards. If the standard being practiced is not of God then any individual must not accept it within the local church or at home. Quite often we operate/walk with people who are not with us. Their bodies are present but the minds, thoughts and spirits are elsewhere. The ministry cannot grow and succeed with these types of people in it. Please let them go to where they can commit themselves fully. Do not struggle holding on to them as if your ministry cannot do without them. Don't be foolish. Your ministry can do quite well in the absence of non-committal people. Let them go elsewhere they choose. There, they will be blessed (if they commit). Do not stick on those who are not part of the team. If you realize one want to walk out of your fellowship but does not want to say why, the best thing to do is to release him to God wherever he shall be. Do not bind him in prayers to remain. He can remain with your prayers and end up being a thorn in your flesh (ministry). If people are walking away from you it does not necessarily mean you have failed, it means their part in your life is over. It means the things which connected you to them is dead now. Remember only Jesus raises the dead. Prepared by Pastor Caleb Ochieng Salem Christian Center- Nakuru. K.I.T.I. Bahati Road P.O. Box 7355, 20100.
