NAZARENE MISSION MAIN CHURCH BUILDING PROJECT Our ministry known as Nazarene Mission was founded in 1993. The name was revealed to me in prayer, although we are not associated with any other body with a similar title. We have been able to fill, in some small way, a "vacuum" left by the traditional churches. That is, we serve the very poor. We are headquartered in Mattakkuliya , in the north of Colombo, where we rent a facility. Although it serves as our place of worship, a centre for bible studies and a venue for fellowship meetings, it is indeed a tiny area, and woefully inadequate for our needs. Besides the ministry to our own congregation, we have been ministering to refugees from the Tsunami since Boxing Day 2004. Our outreach to the poor of the Mawatha District, as well as the administration of three branch churches in the upland tea plantations is all centred on this little building. My first and foremost appeal to you is for support of our building project. We would like to build a more adequate worship centre and ministry base. Our congregation are people with meager income and their own existence is of a hand to mouth nature. Therefore I am constrained and compelled to make this fervent appeal for this Urgent need from those of you with greater resources. As an encouragement, think about how God prospers us. Prosperity is the result of a decision we make to build Gods Kingdom, His work. Only as we make that decision will God prosper us. God wants you to be blessed. "The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend too many nations but will borrow from none". Deuteronomy 28:12 ; but he will only prosper you as you make a divine decision to build his kingdom; to tell the nations the Gospel message of Jesus' salvation. Many of you may be in churches with building programs of your own. It is difficult to see how to provide for another fund. I commend to you the way God works. 1Kings 17: 7-16 is the story of the Widow of Zarephath for whom God provided as she trusted the Word of Elijah. We serve a Wonderful and all sufficient God who is able to do far more than we can imagine! May God Bless you yours in Christ Jesus Pastor. Abraham Emmanuel
