Introduction to our ministry
we would like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves to you in brief. We are Christian ministry registered under west Bengal society Act of Government of India operating in Siliguri, India and around. Our ministry is called as SILIGURI ASIAN HARVEST MINISTRY focusing more on church planting, evangelism, training Christian leaders and also working out in community development, orphanage, child welfare, literacy and health. we have the churches planted in India and Nepal. We do also have the church planted among the Bhutanese refugees in Nepal. Fresh new churches have been started in Nepal Tibet border too The founder of Asian Harvest Ministry is Pastor Jigmee Sonam Bhutia. Lord has put the burden to rescue the lost in his heart. With the vision to plant churches in unreached group, he moved to a new strategic place. His servant had the heart and burden to raise more and more church planters and to send them to plant churches . This is the only motivation his servant started this ministry. The vision of Ministry is to plant churches in all the unreached people groups of India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Tibet, china and beyond by reaching, equipping, discipling, and raising indigenous character and visionary Christian leaders and church planters with the servant-hood heart to become blessing to their own nations. The Mission headquarter is located in very strategic place called siliguri. Geographically, its physical location is very strategic. Siliguri is second largest city of west Bengal province of India and its population is almost 2 million. Siliguri is one hour drive to Nepal border, three hours to Bhutan border, one hour to Bangladesh border and six hours to China border. Moreover it connects the entire north east India with other parts of India. Siliguri have railways and roadways connecting the whole India and also these neighboring countries. Siliguri also has an airport which connects entire part of country and soon it is going to be international airport. Moreover it is in west Bengal state which has the population of 60 million+ where the christian percentge is not even 2 percent. Likewise it neighboring state is called Bihar which is also known as grave yard of missionaries. Bihar also has the population of 90 million+ which also has less than 1 percent Christianity. So it is located in very strategic place for the operation of the mission. Right now we have more than 50 families in the main church. The church has also started branch churches in and around the city. Lord opened the door for us to start the fresh churches. We have four full time ministers right now and three more and preparing for the ministry. There are always fresh visitors in the church ever week. We have our Sunday worship from 11:00 m to 2:00 p.m. Every Sunday we have new visitors and seekers too. We do have spirit filled worship and ministry from His Word that is life changing. We have Lord communion every first Sunday of the every month. In Asian Harvest Ministry, We take the children ministry very seriously. Today's Children are the leaders for tomorrow. We believe that we are mandated to disciple, teach and set an example at home and church to raise them as character visionry leader with servant-hood attitude for tomorrow. We believe children are heritage from God trusted in our hand. Prayer and fasting is one of the main ministry in our church. Every Friday, we have prayer and fasting in the church for the salvation of nations, delivernce and signs and wonders with miracles.. We pray against all the forces of darkness and principalities. We pray for the people in the authority in the local or territorial areas. We hope to see drastic changes in this part and we strongly believe in this. - Leadership development is one of the main passion, burden nd vision of Asian Harvest Ministry. We have leadership crisis. Most of the leaders are positional and opportunist with self serving attitude. But in our ministry our prayer is to raise visionary character leaders with servant-hood attitude who loves to serve others and enjoy seeing others blessed. We need such leaders to lead the nations to Christ. Here in our ministry, we conduct clsses on leadership on character building and many more regularly. We are praying to have leadership training center where we could have skill development for the leaders in different fields. Evangelism is one of the main tasks of the church. We believe that church is mandated to evngelize our community, locality, provinces, country and globally among all the nations. That is why, we involve in different levels of evangelism. - Although our ministry is in pioneering stage, our ministry has started the churches in India and Nepal. The work has been spreaded to Nepal-Tibet border and also among the Bhutanese refugees settled in Nepal. There are many refugees camp in Nepal where there are more than hundred thousand Bhutanese refugees. WE have the opportunity to plant churches in Bhutan, Bangladesh and Tibet (now China). These areas cover almost 40 percent of world's population, where the Christian percentage is still very low. That is why we focus more on this part of world. Nepal was known for the only Hindu Kingdom of the world. We thank God for the freedom of worship and religion given by the interim government after the breakdown of the monarchy in Nepal in 2006. Nepal has the population of more than 25 million population. Now the churches are growing in this small Himalayan kingdom. - The congregation under the Asian Harvest Ministry in Nepal is called as Inspiration fellowship. This fellowship hs started in early 2005 and it is growing very fast. Now the Fellowship has more than 150 regular attendants and many branch churches have been established too. The overseer of Nepal Asian Harvest Ministry Pastor Bishwa Dev Khadka is the senior pastor of the fellowship. Under his leadership, the ministry is trying to raise more and more ethnic leaders to reach and plant churches mong all the ethnic groups in Nepal. The branch church nearby Tibet and Nepal border is growing very fast. Christianity mostly flourished in north east India and southern India. Mostly the Christianity has been accepted by the dalits (The untouchbles) and the tribal peoples. Most elite groups are from ruling and warrior groups from central western and northern India. Very less work has been done in this part of world. So we in Asian Harvest Ministry is focus more to raise leaders from this groups. Bhutias from Sikkim are one of the un-reached people group from Sikkim, India. Bhutia people group don't have New Testment translation. All the Bhutias are actually migrated to sikkim from Eastern Tibet since 13th century. That is why all the Bhutias are Lamaist Buddhist and there are still many people from same group in Tibet too. Once we translated the bible, this can be help for the people from eastern Tibet. Asian Harvest Ministry is trying its best to translate the book of John first to able to share the gospel and then the New Testament bible.
Prayer request on specifie needs and what we do t
Although Asian Harvest Ministry is still very small and in the pioneering stage, we have taken some steps to become the blessings to nations and to share His love to the people. There are some of the projects we are doing which is supported locally and which the ministry can afford. We want to do much or would have done more but because of the lack of resources we are not able to do much. Asian Harvest Ministry doesn't receive and grant or funds from outside and also from the government. So we are praying for the help as we have lots of projects that are helpful to the people. - This is one of the best asset for the ministry and also the help to the people who don't have the privilege to have the eduction. India Government has launched an operation to educate all the citizens of India. We as ministry to bless the nations and to open door for the gospel, Asian Harvest Ministry would love to run non-formal centers to educate all the street children, backward classes, orphans, child laborers, first generation illiterates and especially girls in India. This will give us an opportunity to educate all the neglected, poor, drop outs and over age children and to bring them in the regular college within their age limit and to rise them as character and visionary leaders for the new genertion. The curriculum has been developed by the national institute of Open schooling which is recognized by the government of India. Within this curriculum, there are three levels of education like level A,B,C. The guidelines re s follows: Target Groups The target group consists of the following: 1. School dropouts 2. Dropouts 3. Girls and women, marginlized groups, SC/ST, BPL groups, first generation learners 4. Out of school children and adult 5. Street children and orphans. 6. Child laborers. Levels Offered under the OBE progrmme The OBE progrmme has three levels A, B nd C, which are as follows �� Level A equivalent to standard of the formal school system. �� Level B equivalent to standard V of the formal school system. �� Level C equivalent to standard V of the formal school system. A learner would be given certificte only when he/she completes the entire level. As an agency, Asian Harvest Ministry would like to run such centers and sub centers all over the rural and slum areas of India to bless all the child laborers to educte them. The vision is to educate them and to raise them as character leaders who will led the coming generation in godly way. After completing its foundational course, they will be enrolled in secondary level and then to senior secondary level. Then we can guide them to undergraduate degree in different college. Eventully these rack pickers, children working in the garage and hotel of 12-15 years old, will have the opportunity to become government officers and leaders in the church. Please support us with your help and prayer for this. - Prayer is the one of the most powerful weapon in the ministry. We don't want to imbalance ourselves by just looking for the community things but we also want to see the spiritual transformation in the people groups. In order to get success in all these projects, we want to have the prayer warriors praying for the ministry continuously. We believe there are principalities and forces that actually control everything that happens here on earth. Hence to cast out such forces and its effect in the society, we want to have the prayer towers continuously praying agignst such forces to bring the Kingdom of God on this particular part of world. We have small prayer tower in rented home but we are praying for place of our own to have own prayer tower to pray for the nations and all the projects. We need our prayer support and generous contribution for this. As Asian Harvest Ministry wants to raise character visionary leaders for the coming generation, we are focus to it. Although we don't have regular training centers, yet we conduct such courses to many workers on every Friday. Many of them have experienced radical changes and their concept and motivtion have been checked. In our discipleship and leadership course, we first deal with their attitude, motives, mentality, values and concepts. Sometime we see people doing good things in bad motives which is complete hypocrisy. So we the first generation Christians have many kinds of feedings and baggge from the community, society, school and family which eventully hamper our leadership. Since the leaders are those who are willing to serve others without any self-interest, by not ruling over the people he/she is leading, he/she needs to be equipped properly. We Asian Harvest Ministry are praying to have our own Leadership and discipleship school, please pray for us. We need our generous contribution and prayer support to able run leadership training center. One good leader can bring lots of changes in the community. - As shared earlier, Sikkimese Bhutias doesn't have even New Testament translated in their own language. There are many such groups in this part of world who doesn't have the bible in their own languages. Asian Harvest Ministry is putting its effort to translate the N.T bible in bhutias. Please pray for us and we need our generous gift too for the publication. As the main focus is to plant churches in different nations, we have some of the leaders whom we wanted to release to the field. As our ministry is new and have less resources, we are inviting partners and net-workers to help us to release those brothers and sisters for the ministry to able to plant churches in different part of this region for the glory of God. We want to see "THE KINGDOMS OF THIS WORLD HAS BECOME THE KINGDOM OF OUR LORD AND OF HIS CHRIST AND HE SHALL REIGN FOREVER AN EVER." Revelation 11:15. Now we are praying for the projects and needs of the same. We are also praying for the networkers, partners and assistance from the churches to become blessing to these children and people groups. We are not here to build our Kingdoms but to rescue the lost which is the heart beat of the God. We have the following prayer request. Please do pray for us. 1) Pray for the annointing and guidnce of Lord Jesus Christ in our ministry. 2) Pray for the partners, networkers and assistnce for the ministry. 3) Pray for the projects like Non-forml Eduction through which we can reach out thousands of children for the Lord. 4) Pray for the church planting effort and to raise many church planters in the ministry. 5) Pray for mentoring, equipping and empowering of the ministers of the Asian Harvest Ministry.
