Our Church
From Whence the Lord Has Brought Us. . .Hallelujah! Healing Temple is the product of a vision delivered by the Lord Jesus Christ unto a man and his wife, John R. Savage and Gladys Savage. They held the first service in their home in the Cavalier Manor section of Portsmouth having only three adult members present. As their membership increased, they needed a place 2 accomidate, so they moved to a storefront on Portsmouth Boulevard. Again they needed a new building to house their growing membership, so they bought a garage on Rapidan Street, renovated it to accomadate the saints and worshiped there. The Lord was working through our pastor at this time, and in 1986 he was consecrated to the office of Bishop by the late Bishop James Monroe Clark and founded the union of United Pentecotal Churches of America Inc. Needing a larger place 2 house the members of Healing Temple in addition to the U.P.C.A inc., it was time for expansion. In 1989 Healing Temple United Pentecostal Church entered their new beautiful edifice. Praise God!
