Agape Eagles Cathedral also known as Agape Christian Church was founded by Bishop Joseph Makwakwa assisted by his lovely wife,Dr Deborah Makwakwa on the 4th March 1990 at Giyani Town.Presently the church has many sister churches in many parts of South Africa and Malawi,Blantre.Their international Headquaters is situated in Pretoria,the Capital City of South Africa.Bishop Makwakwa fathers many pastors in his organization as well as other churches.He is a member of an American based Network of Churches, Greater Works of Christ (under the Prelacy of his spiritual father,Bishop Wayne T.Jackson of Detroit,Michigan,who consecrated him to the sacred office of a Bishop in 1999,October,the 13th at Giyani Town.) He is a dynamic preacher, a leadership consultant,a counselor,an author,a scholar who has travelled extensively in Africa,USA,Europe and the East.He is happily married to Dr Deborah and their marriage is blessed with three children,namely Beverly,Nicholas,Joseph jnr and grandson Nathaniel. He and the family reside in Pretoria East.He is the Presiding Prelate of Agape Family of Christian Churches,the Eagles Network of Christian Churches and the CEO of the Eagles Covenant College.Bishop Makwakwa holds a B.A.degree with the University of the North(Limpopo),he is also a graduate of Haggai Institute(Singapore),Bethel Christian College(USA).He also holds two honorary doctorate degrees in Humanities and Divinity from two prestigious American Theological Seminaries.
