Excerpt from sermon on 06/02/2005:
(MY NAME IS WRITTEN IN HEAVEN)
The words that we speak possess the power to change this age and to change the eternal destination of souls. My words have already changed eternity. What did I do to bring this about? I simply agreed with God. I simply spoke the truth. Rom 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, [even] in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Jesus has been, is, and will be Lord for eternity. In the instant that I agreed with the Word; in the instant that I confessed with my mouth, The Lord JESUS and believed in my heart that God raised him from the dead, my eternal destination changed. Then, the Holy Ghost came before anyone could delay Him with tarrying and gave me power to witness and to dominate and to change everything and everyone around me. My spirit came alive when I spoke. When I spoke I joined Christ in the throne. With Christ, I triumphed over the wicked one. Now, having begun in the spirit, having begun by speaking, do I think I wll be perfected through my flesh? Absolutely not. Or through thoughts? Not at all. My thoughts, like your thoughts are actually the chief entry way for demonic influence, greed, envy, and lust. God designed our mouths, beginning with Adam as a tool for dominating earth and heaven (yes, even heaven). This powerful tool or weapon ought to be a fountain spring of life, not a sewer(a deadly receptical of every vile and unholy thought). If our spoken word brought forth life in Christ and changed our eternal destination, we must continue to be filled by the Holy Spirit that we may speak words of life daily in order to win the daily battles, and defeat the moment by moment temptations and onslaughts of the adversary.
The Next Level for Young Adults
Meeting on 2nd & 4th Sundays from 5PM to 7PM, The Next Level for Young Adults addresses spiritual/practical issues ranging from sexuality to professional development. We also offer opportunities for young speakers, job-seekers, holy rappers, and travel to camps and conferences including TD Jakes MegaFest 2006 in the ATL this summer.
