Presenting a kinder, gentler version of Lutheranism, we are a parish in the Lutheran Evangelical Tradition. We understand Lutheranism as a renewal movement in and for Western Catholic Christianity, which focuses on the teachings of Father Martin Luther early in his career. Because they are trustworthy witnesses to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we accept the Apostles, Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds, the first seven Ecumenical Councils of the Church, the Unaltered Augsburg Confession, the Apology of the Augsburg Confession, and Father Martin Luthers two Catechisms. We respect the remainder of the documents in Book of Concord (1650) insofar as they are trustworthy witnesses to the Gospel. We celebrate the traditional seven sacraments, and our clergy are ordained in the historic Apostolic Succession.
We also recognize as Confessional Documents the "Articles of Religion" from the "Book of Common Prayer" as interpreted by "Tracts for the Times", by John Henry Newman, and other documents from the Church of Englands "high-church" Oxford Movement insofar as they are trustworthy witnesses to the Gospel. Where there is conflict between these Documents and those in the Book of Concord, we follow the consensus fidelium of Western Catholic Christianity as presented in these two documents. Our liturgy is the Roman Catholic Anglican Use "Book of Divine Worship."
