October 17, 2004 - The Church was founded by Pastor Douglas Neal in a vision that God gave him for a place of refuge for his people. A healing place for the wounded hearts, broken spirit, the downtrodden. A place to give hoope to the hopeless, sight to the blind and set the captive free by Preaching and Teaching the liberating Word of God. Our foundation scriptures are matthew 11:28-30: "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your soulds. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." With this vision in mind and heart, Pastor Neal, along with some faithful few began the task of obtaining a sanctuary and preparing it for a place to come together in Christian Fellowship to Praise and Worhship the Lord. Through much time, sacrifice, prayer, tithes and offerings, the Cathedral of Love & Faith Church became a reality.
A cathedral is an image in stone of a prayerful Christian life. Like some great cathedral, a truly prayerful soul is a cruciform (cross-shaped) plae of worship and adoration. Like some graceful cathedral, a prayerful sould has her majestic walls, her soaring towers reaching heavenward. So it is, and so it ever shall be with a sould communing in its love with the God who is Love Himself! From all eternity thou hast gazed in love upon Thy Father, Eternally Begotten One, Jesus Christ. When in human flesh Thoud didst sojourn here below, Thy Human Soul immortalized all faithful souls that ever prayed for love of Thee. Cathedral-like Thou raised Thine hands as spires that reached to Heaven,a nd for us mean Thous spreadest Thine arms upon the Cross, that Cruciform. The sacrifice upon the Altar High, high upon Golgothas brown, forever raised to save our souls that they, like Thine, shouldst yet at least become cathdreals of Thy Pead. O evermore send down the Dove that floods our faltering prayers with Love and lift our sights to Gods right hand where sittest Thou in glory bright. Ring forth the heaven in thunderous bells, descend at last O Holy christ with outstretched arms ... Cathdral-like lift heavenward Thy Church from night. Amen
