History:

In 1999, Rev. Dr. Julius J. Nyange had a vission of starting a Church and he shared the vission with his wife Monica. Later he began to form his core and values. This took them another five years. In order to start a church, they knew highly effective people were needed to help them lead it. Many people from around came on board after hearing about Julius and his wife wanting to start this new church through word of mouth. In the end, there were Two people Rev. Elisha Mwamoma and Rev. Justin Lukele whose heart God had touched, calling them to what eventually became Gospel Light Church. Their first significant meeting was held in May 7, 2005. Rev. Dr. Julius J. Nyange as the founder took him a couple of weeks to find a place for worship. With the assistance of Rev. Elisha, they eventually aquired a Hall formally called Community Centre. On June 19, 2005, Gospel Light Church launched their first service in the Community Centre. Approximately 22 people came to the first service--a true testament that God always does immeasurably more than they could imagine! Starting a church was viewed much like having a baby. Now they just had to go through the process of giving birth! A Baby Shower was even coordinated in June 26 2005, where family, friends and partners in Christ were invited so that the vision of Gospel Light Church could be shared, as well as to ask for prayer and financial support. But these things have stayed the same: to extend God's Kingdom, to grow passionate followers of Christ, and to have Love that's Contagious!

A Prayer from the Mission Team:
Abba Father,
Thank You Lord for Your goodness and mercy.
Thank You for Your grace and love.
Thank You for opening this door of opportunity for us to share Your incredible love to the people of Vietnam.
We come before You, humbled and in awe of Your faithfulness in our own lives.
Lord, please use us in a mighty way, that You would be glorified in ALL we do.
May we be "salt and light" for You.
As we minister to them with their medical, optical, and dental needs, may Your love gently beckon them.
Father God, please touch the hearts of the Vietnamese people, that they would come to know You as Lord and Savior.
Give them a hope and a peace that transcends all understanding.
We ask in the Name of Jesus, that Your truth would set the Vietnamese people free.
May Your hand sweep across their land, may Your cleansing blood heal their hearts and souls,
and may Your love and peace flow and Your light shine through the darkness.
Please heal the brokenhearted and those crushed in spirit.
May Your presence be felt by them during this time of devastation and suffering.
Thank You Father for Your compassion and mercy for the lost and hurting.
Thank You for loving us.
We love You.
In Jesus' Name,
Amen.
