About Us...

The Cathedral of St. Moses the Black is a faith community of the African Orthodox Church (AOC), which was canonically erected and founded by the Most Reverend GEORGE ALEXANDER McGuire, our first Bishop and Patriarch (ALEXANDER I), of "Thrice Blessed Memory!" .

We are a family of committed Orthodox Christians, who are committed to Our Lord, Jesus Christ and His teachings. We accept as wholly true the testimony of His Apostles, who were eye-witnesses of His life, death, and victorious resurrection.

We maintain faithful adherence to the Sacred Scripture of the Old and New Testaments (inclusive of the Apocrypha), which contain all things necessary for salvation, and the Apostolic traditions. We also accept as true, without exception, the articles of the Holy Catholic [Universal] faith as expressed in the traditional creeds of the Church; these being the Apostle's, Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds.

Although holding true to the full sacramental life of the Catholic and Apostolic Church, the Holy Eucharist is central to our worship experience. We affirm that Christ is truly present in the Eucharist, and welcome all baptized Christians to partake of the Lord's Body and Blood.

We offer an accredited Seminary: www.forministry.com/USLAINDPTSMTBT
