Statement of Faith

We believe in the Triune God- the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. We believe God created the world, the Son Jesus Christ, the only begotton son, who came for the redemption of our sins, and the Holy Spirit who helps us to understand the scriptures and help us to grow in the Christian life. We believe Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, crucified, buried and raised on the third day and seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come to judge the living and the dead. We believe the resurrection of the body, the judgement, the eternal life. We believe the communion of the saints and the church, which is the body of Christ. We believe the Holy Scriptures as the Word of God, given to us by the inspiration of the Holy spirit.

EVENTS:

Location: The SHALOM CHRIST CHURCH is located in a place surrounded by 7 villages, were the poorest of poor of the Indian society live. The people are comprised of different communities of non Christians. The areas are not yet reached out for the Lord Jesus Christ. As a challenge we took the project there to evangelise the people.

WORSHIP SERVICE: We have worship service on Every Sunday at 10.30 A.M. Many people of non Chrisitans attend the worship service. They are nurtured in the Word of God through stories, Bible verses and songs.

HOUSE VISIT:

Our Evangelist visits the houses of the surrounding villages and shares the Word of God personally. This has lot of impact on the people. Many are now willing to take baptism and become one among the Body of Christ. On 5th June, the first anniversary of the church, two people were baptised by our chairman Rev. J. Prince. Please pray for them. Some more people are willing to take baptism. But they are little afraid of about their husbands. Please pray for them too.

OCCASIONAL OUTREACH MINISTRY:

Occassionally the believers of the nearby church come in a great number, about 35, and visit the villages through songs, personal talks, prayers and entertainments. This certainly encourages the non Christians very much.

BALWADI (CHILDRENS DAY CARE CENTER):

We started a Balwadi for the poor children. The village people are very very poor. They are not able to send their children to school. As the parents go for work they used to take their children also to the fields. The life of the children is pitiable. In order to help the children for their uplift, we started the Balwadi (Day care center). We give nutrient food to the children. The teacher is a committed Christian, who teaches the children the basic education as well as imparts the love of God through stories, songs and Bible verses. These childrn in turn spread the songs and stories to their respective villages, in the evenings. This we feel is a very good media for the gospel.

THE NEED:

Following are the needs of our church: 1) Salary to the 5 staffs Rs. 20,000 (US $ 450 ) per month

2) Uniform clothes to the children Rs. 50,000 (US$ 1150) once in a year

3) Midday meal for 110 children - Rs. 1110 daily (US $ 25)

Monthly - 1110 x 30 = 33300

US $ 750

3) Construction of a small prayer hall Rs. 2,50,000 (US$ 5800)

4) A Mini School Bus Rs. 7,00,000 ( US$ 18,000)

5) Construction of a Room for the children Rs. 2,50,000 (US$ 5800)

FUTURE HOPE:

The surrounding villages are unreached area, comprising of different communities. No one has dared to take the Gospel to some of the Communities in Tamil Nadu. By Gods grace we could do something for the Lord. We hope we will evangelise the areas for the Lord Jesus Christ.

OUR OTHER OBJECTIVES ARE:

Child Welfare center, Orphanage, School, Old Age Home, Income Generting schemes, Adult Literacy, Health clinic, literature, social awareness programs, etc.

We seek sponsors for the above programs.

We assure that through this media we can evangelise the surrounding areas for the Lord.
