Indias greatest evangelistic thrust began in early to middle 19th century, when large number of foreign brethren landed here. Until then, India's opportunity for church growth challenges for all. At an exigency, India's truthful evangelistic thrust began in April 1963, when the Baileys landed here. Soon the other Canadian families landed and then Americans some for few months, and others for few years. After St. Thomas, the pioneer missionary for the Churches of Christ in India is Bro. J C Bailey. Our Indian brethren picked up Bro. JCBailey zeal and love for the people of India shaded unto the foreigners, who visited India, and their zeal. Among these, the ever first evangelist in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India was Bro. Apparao Gootam. He hosted Bro. Bailey in 1964, learned the Truth, and obeyed the gospel. Then, the First century Christianity is restored in Bro. Gootam family in a remote village named GANTI in East Godavari Dt., is the First ever restored Church of Christ congregation in Andhra Pradesh state soon after the villagers obeyed the gospel and added to the congregation restored in the family of Bro. Apparao Gootam, then in Kakinada. Bro.Apparao Gootam (Older Gootam) worked with many missionaries from Canada and USA. Some of them are the Charles F.Scott, Hardmen Nicholes, Albert Gardner {whose brother is Dr. CLAUDE E. GARDNER former president of FREED-HARDEMAN UNIVERSITY} visited Ganti village and proclaimed the Gospel of Christ and many more missionaries. After him, his sons walked into his shoes and serving the Lord Almighty with all their heart and soul. JOSEPH BENJAMIN GOOTAM is his fifth son is the pulpit minister here in the congregation.

For If I do this thing willingly, I have a reward:" "But we preach Christ crucified… … …" (1 Cor. 1:23) "Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man's foundation: but as it is written, to whom he was not spoken of, they shall see; and they that have not heard shall understand". (Rom. 15:20, 21) "According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation and another buildeth thereon. But let everyman take heed how he buildeth thereupon". (1 Cor. 3:10; 2 Cor. 10: 13-18). "I AM the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
