The History and Mission of Antioch Church
Antioch COGIC is successor to the Evangelistic Center-West COGIC, founded by the late Pastor and Supt. Willie C. "Dad" Vaughn,Jr. and Mother Legusta Vaughn. Our present Pastor, Elder Arnold Eugene Vaughn, fourth son of Dad and Mother Vaughn, has been an Ordained Elder for 30 years. He is a small business entrepreneur and former Juvenile Justice Administrator, with over 25 years of experience in the field of Juvenile Justice. Pastor Vaughn's vision is for the development and implementation of spiritual and community outreach programs, designed to deliver the gospel of salvation as well as to help deter poverty, senior citizen neglect, and juvenile crime. Antioch's First Lady, Sister Davita Joyce Wesley Vaughn, has been a licensed Evangelist Missionary for 25 years. She also serves as Music Coordinator for the church, having over 30 years of experience as a choir director and soloist. Along with her career duties as a certified Elementary School teacher, Sis. Vaughn assists her husband in the development of family programming that will enhance the ministry and promote membership retention. Pastor and Sis. Vaughn have four wonderful children- Minister Arnold E. "Gene" Vaughn II, Alaine, Aaron, and Austin- who are all active supporters of the church.
