Gloria Dei Lutheran Church is a congregation of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) on the Iron Range of northern Minnesota serving the Virginia, Embarrass, Britt, Pike-Sandy, Tower, and Lake Vermilion areas of St. Louis County. "Gloria Dei" is Latin for "Glory of God" a term referring to God's gracious presence in Jesus Christ, the crucified and risen Lord, our Savior. Whether you already are a Lutheran looking for a congregation or if you are interested in learning more in catechesis we invite you to visit us soon to hear Gods Word of law and gospel. Gloria Dei is a caring congregation reaching out with the love of Christ. How to get to Gloria Dei: Gloria Dei Lutheran Church is located half-way between Virginia and Tower, Minnesota along highway 169 north, near Vermilion Sports and the Aysta Dairy. We are just 10 miles from the beautiful and popular Lake Vermilion. We are only about 40 miles from the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and about 35 miles from Bear Head Lake State Park. The second location for our Sunday morning Divine Service (8 am) is at Greenwood Township Hall on County Road 77, on Lake Vermilion. It can be reached from highway 169, near "the Ledge" gas station/convenience store by turning left on 77 and going west for about 5 miles. The town hall is on the north side of the road. It can also be reached from Cook or the west end of Lake Vermilion by taking the new County Road 115 to 77. [NOTE: This is just our temporary web page until our new improved page is finished.]
