Elder Melvin Crawford, and the members of Ark of Zion Church of God in Christ, is
continually moving forward with the vision that God has given to him. God has truly blessed
us and we are now moving on to higher heights and deeper depths in the Lord.
ABOUT OUR CHURCH
ARK OF ZION CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST is in the Fellowship District of the Church of God in Christ and is under the leadership of the District Superintendent, Norman O. Harper. The Fellowship District is in the Central Georgia Jurisdiction, under the leadership of the Jurisdictional Prelate and Former Presiding Bishop of the Churches of God in Christ, Bishop Chandler D. Owens.

WEEKLY WORDS OF WISDOM
Joshua 24:14-15
Now therefore fear the Lord, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the Lord.
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
POINTS TO PONDER
The Five-Finger Prayer
1. Your thumb is nearest to you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once said, a "sweet duty."
2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.
3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.
4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is fact that this is our weakest finger; as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them.
5. And lastly comes our little finger; the smallest finger of all, which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, "the least shall be the greatest among you." Your little finger should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.
THE CHURCH VISION
I thank God for the opportunity to share with you the vision that God has given. As I was in the spirit for an undetermined amount of time the voice of the Lord spoke and said, "Know that God is faithful to you as you determine to walk in your anointing, to stay in submission to His divine suthority, and to fulfil your God'ordained assignment.
The assingment is to: "Reach the lost and teach the found, evangelize the world, edify the believers and glorify God." Through studying God word and divine revelation, I have found that there is to much philosophizing and not enough prophesying in the churches of today. We need a new experience of the power of Pentecost. Ours could very well be the generation that rises to meet Jesus in the air.
It's time for us to reevaluate our lives and our ministries, to make sure that we are where we need to be and doing what we need to be doing. Also, the vision of this ministry is to feed the hungry, aid to the needy and homeless and teach the needy that desire change, and the breakthrough is in Jesus Christ.
God also gave my wife and I a vision for youth. We must have a way to reach and teach our children before its too late. Knowing that prayer is no longer in publc schools, the Lord gave us the vision to provide Christian learning five days a week for the pre-school ages. By having praise and worship at least 30 minutes every morning, when they do reach public schools, they will have the spirit of Daniel just before the lions den, determined to pray no matter what.
Since we are living in the final hours of the coming of Jesus Christ we must expand the boundaries and take part in the world harvest. We should come out of the "comfort zone: sometimes and realize we are not settlers, but pilgrims passing through.
There is much work to be done, so finally, we should do all we can to help the brethren and our co-workers with the vision. Just think, what a harvest it would be if the mission of every divine vision was accomplished.
