In 1986, Elder Larry Parker, through divine revelation began a church in his home with his family and a few neighbors, mostly children. The church, then called The Church of God Pentecostal continued to grow through dynamic preaching, personal evangelism and community service programs. After moving several times due to expansion, the ministry settled in Sharon Hill, PA. This location allowed the church to become an established ministry serving the needs of the community while serving the Lord. In 1999, in recognition of the developing vision of the Church and in obedience to God, the Church changed it's name to World Vision Church and established its articles of incorporation as such. The mission of World Vision Church is to minister the word of God to mankind, provide an atmosphere of worship and to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ without compromise or respect of race, creed or color
Pastor Parker was ordained elder at the Church of God Pentecostal in 1981 where he served faithfully in various capacities as youth leader, Sunday School teacher, Bible teacher, choir founder and director, evangelist and other outreach ministries. In July 1984, Pastor Parker, under the direction of the Holy Spirit moved his family to Philadelphia where he began a Bible study and youth group in his home. Subsequent to the growth of this work, World Vision Church was established. In 1993, the LORD opened a door for Pastor Parker to minister in Kerala, India. Many souls were saved, baptized and healed and several churches were established and added to the WVC family. Several years later, Pastor Parker returned to India and was ordained to the office of Bishop. Bishop Parker has a love for foreign missions, youth and a special concern for the restoration of men to their God given leadership and priestly responsibilities. He believes in the leading and direction of the Holy Ghost and for the anointing of God to move in the midst of believers. He is currently senior pastor of the World Vision Church Inc. An entrepreneur, Bishop Parker is a graduate of Western Michigan University where he earned both baccalaureate and graduate degrees. He and his wife have three children.
