What We Believe
1. We believe that the Holy Bible as originally written verbally inspired, and therefore, absolutlely free from error 2 Tim. 3:16-17.
2. We believe there is only one living and true God, manifested in three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, equal in every divine perfection. 1 Cor. 8:6; Rev. 4:11; 1 John 5:7
3. We believe in the personality of Satan, that he is the unholy god of this age, and is destined to the judgment of the Lake of Fire. Matt. 4:1-3; 2 Cor. 4:4; Rev. 20:10
4. We believe that Jesus was begotten of the Holy Ghost in a miraculous manner, born of the Virgin Mary, and truly God and truly man. Gen. 3:15; Isa. 7:14; Matt. 1:18-25; John 1:14
5. We believe that in order to be saved, sinners must be born again; that the new birth is a new creation in Christ Jesus; that in a new birth a person becomes partaker of the divine nature and recieves eternal life. The free gift of God. John 3:3-8; 2 Cor. 5:17; Acts 16:30-33; 2 Peter 1:4.
6. We believe that faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is the only condition of salvation.Acts 16:31
7. We believe that Christians Baptisim is the immersion of a believer in water to show forth our faith in the crucified, buried and risen Saviour. Acts 2:41-42 Acts 15:13-18
8. We believe that all who are truly born again are kept by God the Father for Jesus Christ. Phil. 1:6; John 10:28-29; Rom. 8:35-39
THIS CHURCH RECIEVES THE KING JAMES BIBLE AS ITS AUTHORITY AND ONLY SUFFICIENT RULE OF FAITH AND PRACTICE
CHURCH COVENANT
Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God, to recieve the Lord Jesus Christ as our Saviour, and on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, we do now in the presence of God, Angels, and this assembly most solmnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another, as one body in Christ.
We promise by the aid of the Holy Spirit to forsake the paths of sin and to walk in the ways of holiness all the days of our lives. With this view we engage to strive together for the advancement of this church knowledge, holiness and comfort, to promote its support of a ministry, the expense of the Church, the relief of the poor, and spread of the Gospel through out all nations.
We also engage to maintain family and secret devotions; to educate religiously our children; to seek salvation of our kindred and acquaintances; to walk circumspectly in this world, to be just in our dealings; faithful in our engagements; to avoid all talebearings, backbiting and fleshly anger; to abstain from the sale and use of intoxicating liquors as a beverage, and to be zealous in our efforts to win the lost to our Saviour.
We further engage to walk together in Christian love and watchfulness, giving and recieving admonition with meekness and affection; to remember each other in prayer; to aid each other in sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and courtesy in speech; to be slow to take offence, but always ready for reconciliation and mindful of the rules of our Saviour, to secure it without delay.
